Hello everyone, I am new to the site, and I am also new to using the chastity cages.

When I first started I looked for information on lubricants and many times they recommended a silicone based lubricant.

However when I tried it I noticed that it irritated my skin. Then I tried the water based one and the same thing happened to me. Not only did they irritate my skin but they also dried it out.

Then I did some research and started to look into natural oils. Mainly coconut oil and almond oil, both gave me good results.

First my skin didn't dry out and the effect lasted all day long.

I wanted to ask you what your recommendations are or if you know of any other way to maintain your skin, even if you are using the cage well.

I use as little lubricant as possibe (whatever the sort), because it is likely to react with the steel or plastic of the cage. I got used to not using lubricant pretty fast. If I use one, it is vitamine E-oil, which is neutral to the skin.

Just recently i've learned the importance of a good lubricant when you are wearing a cage, i didn't know. I'm new to all this...

But i agree on using coconut oil. I do have to ask, how often do you lubricate?

Excellent thanks, I have two cages, one steel and one PVC, the steel cage gave me problems when I used water based lubricants, it stuck to my skin. But the oils are usually inert to metal and PVC.

In my case, I have only done it when I put on the cage. I've already spent my first 48 h, and I've had to take a bath with the cage, so I try to put myself back in the base ring a little bit.

I also try to keep it as dry as possible before applying the oil.

I would try to avoid using lube with your cage, being "slick" down there isn't going to help your skin.

That's true, but the material rubbing against your skin doesn't affect you?

This is my opinion and it isn't like I have collected data on it for anyone... but you should try to stay as dry as possible. If you use anything use diaper rash cream... but you are gonna rub yourself raw with wet skin down there. That ring shouldn't be sliding around.

silicone lube. "swiss army" brand is good.
I tried a variety of water- and oil- based ones, but once I tried silicone I never looked back. there's a sports-oriented silicone anti-chaffing product called 2Toms, but I found it more difficult to apply w/ the roll-on approach than just lube.

My MM Jailbird is 24/7 without removal for cleaning using baby powder daily, with a tiny (~3mm) dab of lanolin under the base ring to prevent ball burn before bed. Medela brand 'Tender Care' lanolin works well, so I haven't tried many other brands.

I actually use MULTIPLE lubes. A little CBD oil near the top of the ring. Water based at the bottom. Sometimes I use Vitamin E oil sparingly all around.

My reasoning is that skin doesn't seem to care for bathing in the same thing all the time. I try to mix it up. And certain parts of the ring need different lubricating characteristics.

Therefore, experiment. Don't fall into the trap of trying to find a perfect "one size fits all" solution.

Also be aware that pubic hair can be harsh on skin when trapped under the ring.
(just stick a couple of pubic hairs in your mouth to understand just how hard and aggressive they can be!)
If hair is causing the problem, lubricants will treat the symptom but not the cause!

You are so right on this. The cross section of a pubic hair is more or less a sharp square. The cross section of typical straight head hair is round. Pubic hair tends to be very course.

Yet, it CAN sometimes be a nice buffer under the ring. One has to be very judicious with hair. Although, when in doubt, shaved smooth is best.

I am the exact opposite, shaving for me makes the area too sensitive & it ends up ruining everything.
