Okay so im ordering two new cages on Friday

One for longer term I'll start Friday to Monday morning with the key round her neck, with backwards progression Thursday, Wednesday etc

I want a much small cage for backdoor play

My question really is what better metal or plastic?

I've used a cheap plastic device however from the pictures ive seen metal seems smother with less pressure on the rectal area but tighter around am I correct with this?

Also wondering what lotion people use, is an emoliant a good or bad idea? It can be used as a soap so will it help keep it clean during the day?

It depends on how you define better. Stainless steel is largely indestructible, doesn't absorb odors, and is easy to clean. With the advent of 3D printing, plastic allows for a greater variety of shapes/sizes and is lighter. The knock-off metal devices typically come with base rings in 5mm increments, while plastic devices can come in 1mm increments. I find a 45mm steel base ring just a little small and 50mm just a little big. Having worn both, I haven't noticed any difference in the pressure placed on the rectal area.

I use silicone sex lube but people use lots of different lubes and lotions. Generally speaking something oil based is better because it doesn't dry as fast.

I don't really see the reason for 2 devices... I always suggest people get a metal device, but I wouldn't recommend ordering more than one if you know what size you are.

im wanting something more long term friendly!

my current is ( and believe this is common is far too big) its 3" and after a wear it a bit im about half its size so im going for 1.3"

buying wife a necklace too for my key :D

during my solo play ive used baby oil but it doesn't sustain, some people advocate coconut lotion!

    is that good?

I use Aveda healing ointment. It’s lubricating and helps after a long night of many erections. I would not use any kind of lube. It’s just not good for your skin.

I think most long term members here would agree on a high quality stainless or titanium device. They are easy to keep hygienic and should not cause skin reactions. Plastic is more difficult to keep clean and has a reputation for splitting with painful results.

Avoid low quailty stainless or chrome plated devices.

If you go with plastic, I've had the best experience with polycarbonate cages. They seem to have much smoother surfaces and, if engineered right, are very comfortable.

I have to agree, I had a cheap metal cage that was not plated well, and ahead a bad reaction that took a week or more to heal from wearing it just 48 hours.

Make sure it says medical grade stainless if you have issues with some metals

Besides false advertising in knock-off devices, one isn't finding "medical grade" stainless in anything but custom devices (US$300+). If one doesn't have a nickel allergy it doesn't matter anyway. Most of the cheap devices are 304 stainless which is fine for it's intended purpose, other alloys are designed for applications (like exposure to corrosive environments) which aren't applicable to chastity.

After having tried Sterling Silver, 316 Stainless Steel, & polycarbonate. My answer is:

    Titanium or Titanium or Titanium.

Not everyone can afford a custom device, must less one made from titanium.

For long term wear on a budget, Stainless Steel. I haven had issues even w the 304 ss on ccc's. Lube? Lots of dift opinions. Lately I prefer dry w occassiobal hydrocortisone if a sore is starting. For sports I prefer silicone gelcause it doesnt wash off so fast. Others will, for sure, have dift opinions. Just be careful if you have rubber or silicone bits/sleeves, etc as dift lubes interact...

Sorry, I thought the tittle of the thread is
    “Best material for extended chastity?”,
Not best value for limited funds that might do the job…

For me plastic or resin is best, I’ve had metal devices in the past and I’ve had reactions to the metal, I’m sure it’s because they were just cheap generic devices, but I just prefer plastics, and I prefer moisturiser over lube.
