mail it to yourself... put it in a locker at the bus/train station or airport... leave it locked up at work someplace safe.
Take something of value with a battery door. Tape the key inside. Pawn it. Until you have the money plus the interest, you can't get it back out of hock. You'll have your limited time frame to come up with the money, if you don't, you no longer have access to your penis.
I'm Just self locking again util I meet the right partner. Since I always feel there should be an emergency key regardless, I've never felt the same vibe with freezing, mailing, or similar things. Even with my old KH I had a spare, Kinda like an Honor System with an signed, and sealed envelope with her signature for insurance. I feel there should always be a safe out just in case.
Kitchensafe. You can make your key inaccessible for up to ten days max at a time. Or: Get as large a sucepan as you can. Half fill with water and put in freezer. When frozen rest key on top of ice and fill to brim. Put lid on, then back in freezer again, and douse it so it sticks to bottom, and only way out is to defrost the freezer. Takes a lot of time and inconvenience.
Get one of the plaster of paris kits and put the key in the middle of the model. Once you have painted it and put it on display, you will have to destroy it to get the key. Even better get a "mould your willy" kit, then you need to take a hammer to your own willy to get the key lol
Tell a friend you would like them to keep a set of your house keys as insurance if you ever get locked out(doesn't have to actually be house keys) they get keys you can get to in an emergency, but you can't really keep bugging a buddy every day that you got locked out...again. They are out of reach but obtainable.
This is an ace idea. I am not locked of course being a KH, but I do live alone; and I have given a spare set of house keys to some friends in case I ever get locked out. Or in deed if there's an emergency at my house when I'm away. It's a not unusual vanilla practice in my experience. So if the cb key is on the ring with your spare house keys - perfect!
Get a P.O. box mail the key to it .... leave it there in the box, limits your access to it but is there should you want to drive and get it
Dig a big hole in the garden and put it down there. Nobody want to has dig the garden in the middle of the nite when its rainy and horribile does they. oooh and the bigger the hole the longer it will take you to find it again. giggle.
If you live where it's cold in the winter, dig a deep hole then bury the key but make sure the hole is well saturated with water so that ithe top of the ground freezes solid. Or tape it under a drawer or cabinet in your friends bathroom. Maybe start off with leaving your key at work.
OP states is in Ohio. Average January F degrees 20 min 36 max. (Columbus) Borderline at best, I'd say.
