I am not quite clear on the exact procedural difference between the two practises above from the POV of the KH. What does the KH need to do when and how do they know when to do it in both cases? I have researched this on the internet but have yet to find a clear explanation.

Precum can flow without orgasim. Ruined just gets your orgasim started and strokes stop, you loose the net effect feeling of cumming. Edging just stops at moments before relief and then working to edge again.
So from the KH's pov: In the case of edging, the KH depends on the subject to tell them when they are getting close and when the KH hears that, he or she stops or at least reduces the pace of the strokes; in the case of ruined orgasms, the KH strokes until the very first sign that the subject is beginning to experience an orgasm -- that communication might or might not be verbal -- and then he or she stops entirely. OK. I get that.
Truth or porn fodder? I have read somewhere that after a properly executed ruined orgasm the guy can stay hard so that the KH can continue to tease his penis. And as he stays hard can still have sex after the ruined orgasm and he might last longer.
Truth! Ruined orgasms do not diminish my desires at all, and I can continue through a few of them. Somdetimes ruins have massive frustration with them and can feel devastating when executed well. e.g. sometimes my KH will encourage me while we are fucking "Come inside me" etc, and then just as I am losing myself in that she will push me off "No cumming for you". If I am past the point of no return at that point it will result in a massively frustrating ruined orgasm, grrrrrr.
