    Just for fun... Think of popular television shows past or present and imagine which widely-known character was secretly in chastity for their partner. Tell us why they were in chastity and how it still works in the show environment without upending the storyline. Was that character a cuckold, also? Let's hear your thoughts!

    I'll start. For me I'd say Monica from Friends had Chandler in chastity. She was clearly the dominant partner and he was clearly submissive and needing her constant approval. Yes, she cuckolded him with Richard. Perhaps while he was off in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

    I always like to think that Honey West (the mid-Sities Ultra-Feminine Private Eye played by Anne Francis) had her boy in permanent chastity while she had her way with a series of worshipful male admirers.

    ‘Twas the lovely Diana Rigg, late of House Tyrell, what played Emma Peel. I believe Honor Blackman’s character was named Tara something.

    That was an amazing show. Looking back, I think it had quite an effect on me.

    Honor Blackman did play Pussy Galore in Goldfinger. Not TV but I'd like to think she could've had James Bond in chastity. One of them should have.

    Sybil Fawlty kept Basil’s nuts pretty firmly in a vise (I think at one point he muttered an aside about “she’d have to sew them back on first”), but of course he was never at peace with his role in their relationship so I can’t see him ever being caged. A tamed Basil Fawlty just wouldn’t be as much fun to watch.

    I absolutely hate the show but I think the one that 100% obvious is the main husband on Modern Family. He was such a wuss that blonde chick that was his wife that she had to have him locked.

    It's funny you mentioning Hyacinth Bucket.

    Just a few days ago I had a lightbulb moment out of nowhere about that series.
    First, I realised all the sisters are named after flowers: Hyacinth, Rose, Daisy, Violet.
    Then I realised where Hyacinth gets the 'Bouquet' affectation from!

    Anyway.
    My nomination for chastity in TV goes to the BBCs' crime/comedy 'New Tricks'.

    Firstly, I reckon Brian Lane (Alun Armstrong) was kept in chastity by his wife Ester. I think she'd definitely be in charge in the bedroom...
    Next, Jack Halford (James Bolam) would have been under the lock and key of his wife Mary until her death. Now Jack's melancholy and pines for that snug feeling of confinement.
    Lastly, Sandra Pullman (Amanda Redman) would dearly love to put the womanising Gerry Standing (Denis Waterman) behind bars. No more standing to attention for Gerry!

    Never thought of the bouquet thing with the sisters with flowers. But since Hyacinth married the bucket name, does that mean that all the flowers are Richard's bouquet, given that they all liked him so much maybe his bouquet was his own little harem?
