Yes, I have in the past experienced that. It’s not coming off, and it gets tight. Once done though, it was ready for the cage to lock back on. Well with some pushing and shoving

 

9 times out of 10 the base ring is too tight to remove without ice so it stays on. It is for the best if I'm getting locked back up right afterward.

This was an issue for us but fundamentally the wife wanted the ring off. We now have a hinged ring so it can be removed. This came with its own challenges such as pinching round the hinge. It's also more difficult to put on so I always put it on and she turns the key. I'd prefer a solid ring I think but it wouldn't work for us.

Agree it’s better if the ring can come off…most folks (myself included), by the time the cage came off the cock was getting too hard to remove and we didn’t want to mess with things…ice/cold shower or wait it out etc.

If I am reading correct you ordered the 28 with a barrel lock? If so I would recommend telling them you want a Burg Wachter barrel. I made the mistake of just saying barrel style and the one they supply is close to double the size of the BW lock. Luckily for me there was an error in translation (neither of our fault really) and Youming made a new cage which I was able to get the new barrel on. It is night and day smaller and tucks in closer and doesn't protrude as much from the base ring/cage. The titanium is fantastically light.

Back on topic- We haven't had a go with the ring on yet but my wife is still not on board and I'm worried about turning her off to it so it disappears before fun time.

 

Thank you for the tip. I specified "integrated lock" on the order. His web site doesn't mention a Burg Wachter barrel that I could see. Is this something new?

 

It's not new, as in it isn't on the site- it is just something he will accommodate. I didn't know either until someone mentioned it to me in the device forum. Send him a message on the website or through Etsy sooner the better if you want to change it- and trust me you do, it's a very large difference.

Wow that is quite a difference. I already emailed him asking for the Burg lock. Not sure if it will change the price but I will pay more if necessary.

The base ring never comes off . Mistress puts the cylinder back in the base ring and i rotate it under my balls

 

I have to use a hinged ring, because I cannot get everything through a solid one. The 'package' is not loose enough to go through separately. Even with a hinged one, I have to use a 50 mm ring, and it's tight enough to only be able to put one fingertip under it.
Pinching is a problem indeed, but as we agreed to find a perfectly fitting cage before locking me up again, I'll try to 3d print some parts.
