I’m new here but not new to being locked. Excited to add value where I can. A big obstacle preventing me from being permanently locked has always been exercise. I’m an avid cyclist (think Tour de France) and riding locked at that level is almost impossible. During the pandemic my wife and I began running. Happy to say I completed the NYC marathon locked a couple of weeks ago!!

I have the same issue, I train 8 times a week (swim, bike and run). Currently I have to unlock each time :(

And huge congrats on the Marathon!!

Congrats on the marathon! I work out at least 2x a week with a trainer doing a mixture of cardio and weight training. I have tried doing a few sessions locked and I found it too difficult. Beyond hiding things while in different positions, it is really the squats and any bending down activity where I found I was more focusing on safely bending without hurting myself vs the exercise itself. The other major issue is my boys go hardcore "return to the mothership" mode during exercise making it very uncomfortable and often ball burning. So now I unlock before and lock back up a little after when things calm down.

I play tennis 5 days a week. I couldn't do that while locked, too much awkward movement. It comes off right before and goes back on right after the shower.

Congratulations on our NYC marathon! I’ve never had any problems working out or cycling while locked, but I’m not going as hard core as you lot!

Congrats on the caged marathon. I'm a cyclist too. My rule is <20-25 miles it stays on and >25 miles it goes back on in the shower afterwards.

I cover the package with an ankle sock and pull it up so I'm balls forward. The ring should be right at the front of the saddle except when I'm down on the drops.

Having spent the majority of the last 10 years locked the biggest reason my cage ever came off was for exercise. Like most of us here, I've been through just about every cage on the market. My workhorse cage for continuous lockup has been the Holy Trainer V4 but I couldnt get long workouts in comfortably for the same reason - Balls go high and tight and pain ensues. I did 100+ days in my HT w/ no removal and in that time got little exercise. Priorities, you know? Now I'm in a custom Ti BAWR and its just glorious.

I currently have a BAW 01 titanium that seems to fit perfect. My only single issue is the occasional burn when my cremaster decides to try out for the olympics. I can certainly feel a bit of groin strain when bending down with weights. I don't know if it's just tightness but I pulled a groin muscle once and I shall go the rest of my life trying to avoid another 2 year recovery.

Also congrats and kudos on the marathon!!! I have done a few halfs but never a full, but I can relate to the huge training regime needed for it. I have only recently started to run caged and when i do I get a testy testie. The left one gets into an uncomfortable position but pops back into place shortly after running. I have ran up to 10kms caged but thats about it. I often go for long walks or hikes in the forest and do not unlock for those activities.

I have tried cycling but have not found that to be possible, sadly that is an unlocking for sure. I do mountain biking in the mountains and just for the safety side of that I would unlock anyways, I have crashed before.

Last week I went on an 8 km 600 meter climb (5 miles and 1800ft for my American friends) snowshoe hike while caged. I was not certain how that would play out with the layers or warm clothes and the strange movements needed to snowshoe, but it was fine, no issues at all.

I can go to the gym and lift stuff, but I am not a bodybuilder just trying to stay in shape, a beach holiday is rapidly approaching.

I love wearing my cd, I am a self locker so I am my own keyholder and I have set my own rules. I keep myself honest using time release locks and if I have a ride planned in the future I set the lock to the start time of the activity. If I don't end up going I reset some time onto it.

I am very active and very locked up, the 2 lifestyles can coexist.

    Well done!

I used to be a triathlete before my chastity days. Now I run a little, bike a little, and like Rectrix, never have ridden more than 25 miles with my cage on. I used to ride 200 miles a week and in the hot, humid conditions where I live, I'm certain I would have had significant irritations from the ring. Heck, I had problems with chafing from the seems on my bike shorts because I perspired so much.

Did you experience any chafing doing the NYC marathon?

Wearing my cage has no effect on my ability to exercise. I go for long walks while caged. Go to the gym and use the various machines for upper body, lower body and abs. Can ride the stationary bike type machines with no problems..

I agree. Don’t try to lock during sports and exercise. Just lock right after

As an avid cyclist myself, I used to have to unlock as well to train etc. not a huge deal but was a nuisance. Since she had me pierced a while back and now in a shaft only cage (MCN GA2), it doesn’t present problems like it did. It’s pretty easy to keep tucked in my bibs…that being said I’ve only been on shorter training routes maybe 20-25 miles at most. Pretty sure if I went longer, did any sort of century ride I’d want to have it unlocked.

Went snow skiing no probs caged. But I must admit whenever I exert myself my ball bag seems to draw very tight to the point where its very uncomfortable. God knows how you did a marathon so indeed congrats.

Strangely lifting at the gym is no issue its cardio that seems to do it.

That said these days because its part of my body those times are fairly rare but I do still have days where the base ring gives me the shits.

Not to hijack the thread, but it amazes me how little fitness and exercise are discussed.

Shouldn't we strive to be our best?
I'm back to the gym a couple of times a week. I'm trying to get to four, but work has been brutal. As has other responsibilities. So any gym time has be an extra joy and a sanity saver as I feel so much better after a good workout.

No Problems cycling in the steelheart 2. I ride too and from work, though its only about 5KM, cycling seems a non issue, with the caveats of my previous post :)

Same with my MCN glans armor, but you need a PA for that. It doesn’t have a base ring and is just secured by the cage ring around the shaft and, of course, the piercing. No issues riding with it because you can position it pretty much any direction you need in your bibs and there’s no base ring putting pressure on things from the saddle.

I've done running, biking, skiing, and lifting, all in the cage. There does seem to be a point with each that things go from "good" to "ok" to "uncomfortable" to "this sucks".
