    I am pleased to be back!

    I have been involved in kink to varying degrees over the last 10 years.

    I have only been involved in one relationship with a chastened partner. I was woefully not prepared for the challenge and responsibility. It was hard for me to understand the dynamic at all. As I have matured, I realize FLR is the only type of relationship I will consider.

    That being said - I am committed to becoming the best Dominant I can be. I am here to learn from others experience. I always return to this site. I thinks that says it all.

    I am guilty of cultural appropriation and, in consideration of that, will change the username and image as soon as I find a new one
    To answer your question, Kali is the essence of Womanhood - creator, avenger, protector, hero
    Mother
    The iconography has always intrigued me
    I am much more familiar with Buddhism than Hinduism and more than likely first encountered Kali through a Buddhist reference
    Unfortunately, there are no truly powerful women in Canonical Christianity (some will take exception, I’m sure)
    You must admit she is terrifying and beautiful
    Also -
    Kali GOD (Goddess of Death)
    Sort of like John Doe, MD. :)
    (My sense of humor is suspect)

    Please feel free to keep it, I did not find it offensive or anything wrong with it. I was just intrigued to find a westerner with a handle name on goddess kaali.
    I am an avid reader of mythology, mostly Hindu. And love learning about different religions in general. Would sure ping you on PM.
    PS- Godess kaali is not an individual as such. In mythology she is a form of "shakti" or an Avatar. Roughly translated to power (feminine). And that can take various forms, artistic form is Saraswati ( godess of art and knowledge), domestic/ homely form is laxmi (Godess of wealth), and Kali is the ferocious form (wrath and death). All are different avatars of the same one feminine shakti.

    Not very familiar with Buddhist mythology, but Buddhism being created from Hinduism, many deities worshipped in Buddhism are form of Hindu gods and goddesses. Tara is considered another form of Hindu Godess Durga. Even Kaali is a form of Durga.
    Kaali symbolises extreme rebellious nature and extreme disregard to social norms. And personifies absolute carnage and destruction of evil with no scope of mercy. Thus she never wears clothes has untied hair and only wears a skull garland and skirt made of chopped off limbs and carries and blood soaked sword. She symbolises unchecked wrath and rage. While Tara is compassionate and always depicted in a meditative stance.
    They are both form/ manifestations of Godess durga. Who is seen as the ultimate source of strength and power, she rides a lion.
    In Hindu culture, specially in North, warriors throughout history worshipped Godess Durga before going into battle. Even today all army establiments would atleast have one Durga temple.

    In mythology, when gods and deities failed to kill the asurs (roughly translated ti deamons). They called upon godess Durga for help, and she defeated the asurs. This event is celebrated as Navratri across India.

    Tara is not really worshipped in Hinduism. Many Hindus might not even know who Tara is. She mostly is mentioned in Buddhist literature.
    But all of them Tara, laxmi, Saraswati, Dura, Kaali, parvathi, and many more are the forms of the same feminine devine (shakti) or power. They represent difference facets of the feminine devine.
    One extreme is Kaali and another is Parvati.
