    I determined that my type is ISTJ after reading Carl G. Jung's seminal work "Psychological Types", first published in German in 1921.

    I never got a good result from the Myers-Briggs test itself, so I decided to read the original work.

    I'm INTP, with a tendency to be more omnivert than introvert, usually scoring around 49% on the introvert-extrovert scale. I'm ambidextrous and a switch as well!
    I lose count of how many times I get asked "Are you X or Y?" and the answer is "both!"

    Has anyone ever done one of these tests then repeated a few times over a period of months just to see if the results are consistent.

    TBH I hold no more stock with this sort of thing than I do horoscopes or knuckle bones.

    many a question is open to different interpretations

    I've consistently scored and identified with the INTP type for a long time -- plus MBTI has been a fascination of mine for some time.

    Totally not surprised to see many other INTP subs in this thread, along with xNFJ Dommes.

    the tests aren’t too accurate but they’re a good way to get an idea of your type. Your type is determined by the order in which you use your cognitive functions. When you understand them you can figure out which you are.

    Agree... cognitive functions are much more useful and interesting than the descriptions from Please Understand Me and the rest. Once you understand them it opens up a whole other world of personality. But it does make it harder to converse with people who only know about the letters...

    I've done Myers Briggs many times over the years and I'm always INTP. It never changes. I also do Belbin tests, which show what role you play in a team and while I'm usually a Plant that test does change over time. I'd say these tests are useful indicators but nothing more. Certainly better than horoscopes though

    INTPs are the logicians, information and truth seekers.

    So we're probably more likely to be discussing how, what, why and when on a text based forum like this than other types.

    There are probably as many other types doing chastity, but they're just not attracted to this type of forum. There might be a completely different result on a platform like instagram which is mostly image based, I'd expect you'll find more extroverted sensors over there.

    (there I go, typical INTP, analysing everything!)
