You may have heard of this island. Only Women can go there for pleasure and fun. Men are not allowed to go. I talked to my partner about it and She said that there should be more Women only places so they can enjoy theirselves without hesitation. I have seen some Women only beaches also. What are your view on this?
Sexism is sexism. We can't spend decades fighting one form of it then swing back the other way. If you want dumb answers saying how great it is as an idea and how men should be second class citizens, you should have put the thread Goddess Worship and Female Superiority Subforum.
Yes great idea! If we can have men only places and activities! The problem is "men only" is sexist and wrong in the modern world!
In Europe and Asia exist many monasteries - only for men, and - only for women... (is it as island) That is freedom. But a closed world - without men or without women, is absolutely not fun for most people.
Personally I believe it's a good idea for men and women to have the option of enjoying the company of their own sex if they so wish. Despite all the political correctness these days Girls and Boys are different. That's why they are attracted to each other! .
That's what I think too. Both genders should have their own spaces. But the enjoyment of any party comes more with Girls/Women, so it will end up making more Women only places.
I don't understand how any relationship, FLR or otherwise, between the sexes is possible if one of the sexes isn't there.
I see both sides: It’s harder for a woman to get ahead in the business world when the majority of back-room deals are happening in men’s only spaces. So, there are two options I can see for leveling the playing field: allow women in, or ban business deals from said spaces. However ... There is something lovely about having an occasional safe space for people basically similar to oneself where code-switching and being on one’s guard isn’t as likely to be necessary - some breathing room for any race, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc. - particularly for marginalized ones. While there are some people who are flat-out separatists and would be happy with separate districts, cities, or even regions away from whoever they think is causing them stress, those seem to be fewer and farther between as civil rights movements gain more traction thanks to the internet and more attention from media.
I was thinking more on a social level than business level! But you are right! How many deals are done in the "men only club environment"? Where women are generally not made welcome! Mind you neither would I be welcome as I am a trades/craftsman! Let's be honest even in men or women only environments there is an awful lot of discrimination on a class, profession or race basis and many other "differences" as well. To be fair I really don't have any answers. It would be so much easier if everyone in the world would just respect everyone else! And that ain't gonna happen unfortunately!
