Just bought a rivet gun at harbor freight on a whim

riveting it on is the easy part, drilling out the rivet or grinding it off in the future is the scary part. If you are lucky when you install the rivet it will pull the guide rod completely out of the rivet. This improves your chances of drilling out the rivet in the future without problems, however most of the time the guide rod snaps off flush with the rivet. I have found that when drilling a rivet out that this has happen to usually is difficult as the drill bit jumps around. Might be better to try to grind the rivet off if this happens. Either way you are going to need power tools very close to very tender parts of your body and both will create hot bits of metal that will be flying around... Not something I would risk even to eliminate a bulging lock. let us know if you actually pull the trigger

 

Harbor freight, it may not even work. But if it works you might have luck with a hammer and chisel or sharp screwdriver

 

Is it a rivet gun or a rivet puller? I'm not sure I'd want a rivet gun banging away down near my equipment...I'd keep an 1/8th inch punch around, use an 1/8th inch drill bit to start a drill hole (if it's a soft rivet, and it should be, you can do this by hand, especially if the locking rod has pulled out when you set the rivet) and then use the punch to snap the head off the rivet...

 

Just go for it all this big boy talk who has the biggest rivet gun baloney . Soooo what see if we care! !

Real men would just go for it and put a few extra in for good measure. So next time you are at the gun club you can show off how many rivets you have holding your chastity cage on.

I am assuming your test was with the cage and ring off your body???? What brand of cage do you have? I can see where it would be easier to use needlenose pliers to rip the flange off the rivet sitting on your work bench. Thinking it might be a whole different thing with it wrapped around your junk..... Go for it and let us know how it goes.....

 

You could just put some tape around the lock,.and that would make it more quiet.

 

Tape bit of sticky tape, even that gorilla stuff is not up to this testosterone fuelled boy fest!

These boys got their tool boxes out displaying all their biggest and best toys .

Okay guys, I have tons of rivet experience, having worked in aircraft assembly for a number of years.

THINK CAREFULLY WITH YOUR BIG HEAD BEFORE PROCEEDING!

BE CAREFUL! BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY! SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT! The drill will get hot and so will your device and your tiny cock! If the drill slips off the rivet, you might get an unwanted piercing! The drill can also grab inside the hole and shatter, and again you might get a piercing you didn't want! If the drill grabs inside the hole and doesn't break, it can twist your junk up into a knot!

If you need to get the rivet out, and the nail is still inside(the part that breaks off when you pull it), drive it out with a tiny pin punch, about 1/16th inch diameter. You might be able to get the punch at Harbor Freight, but they can be purchased at various industrial tool stores. Once the nail is out, proceed with a drill the same diameter as the original rivet. Again, the small drills are available at Harbor Freight or other industrial tool supply houses. Measure things carefully with precision calipers or a micrometer to make sure you're using the proper size drill for the rivet. A mistake can ruin your device and/or your cock!

If you aren't good with tools, have no training, or don't know what I'm talking about, DON'T rivet your device!

If you still insist on riveting, seek professional help!

I suggest aluminum rivets with aluminum nails if you are just messing around. If you seriously want a permanent lock up using a rivet, stainless rivets with stainless nails are far better for avoiding corrosion, but they are far more difficult to remove.

Also, the pressures from pulling a rivet might break a plastic device, depending on how they are constructed, so proceed carefully.

Is there a good place to advertise for experienced engineers who could be trusted to carry out the process for boys who need to have their devices secured properly .

The idea of a hot drill through the winky is well up there with extreme body mods , though definitely worth exploring with a view to reduce self abuse.

Not everyone will choose the aluminium rivets though , so it's good to have the warning here.

You might consider getting a hand operated jewelry drill to keep on hand. The bits tend to be smaller, and since they are hand cranked, it'll take longer, but with less risk of a high speed accident.

 

Don't get me started, MaleBound. With access to all the fancy equipment, why are you at Harbor Freight buying a cheap pop rivet gun to pull cheesy upholstery rivets? Won't the guys on the shop floor let you cut your fingers off by yourself at night after they've all gone home? Besides, I'll bet my blood pressure is lower than yours, judging from the tone of your post.

I have over 5 decades of shop and engineering experience, with almost all of it in R & D, plus I have an advanced degree with multiple minors. I'm retired now, but I'm still consulting.

Ya'll are nuts to even be thinking about rivets! Even aluminum rivets are hard to drill out because they tend to stick to the drill bit and often spin instead of allowing the drill to penetrate.
Why even consider riveting when your very next thought is how you would eventually get the device off.
Also, a wound from a spinning or broken drill bit anywhere on your body would be terrible. Imagine the physical and emotional pain involved! If you care so little for your privacy you may as well start today by using your real name on CM today.
Guys, get real!
If you really want a "seal" on your CB, use a zip tie. If you want to make things seem permanent, buy a box of hogbrings and a pair of hog ring pliers.

I know I only have a few posts but can say that I've been a long time lurker on this forum(thanks for all the info I've gathered!). I had to respond to this post, this morning I actually riveted myself into my chastity device. I can say initially it was a big turn on and it is stellar not having a clunky lock but have not yet attempted to drill it out. I may give it a few days to enjoy and then start taking a look at how to get this off lol.

Post questions, I'll try to answer them the best I can, if you have any that is

 

I think the only question I have is, "Will you film the rivet removal?" It'll either be informative or entertaining.
