If you have read anything we have posted you will know that we have a preference for SS devices, but are trying out a couple of resin ones. One of the devices we both really like but after a time you really do start to suffer the dreaded scrotum burn where the base ring sticks to the skin. Presently I am using moisturizing cream but having to repeat every 4 of 5 hours.

We have found that we do not get the same result with the SS base rings only the resin.

What do you suggest, or am I just being a big girl and need to toughen up

This is the device we are talking about, love it apart from the regular burn.

I'd suggest you use the stainless steel.
Plastic is porous and doesn't have as smooth a surface as steel, so it's going to collect salt and dirt and other detritus which will then aggravate your skin.

When it comes to skin hygiene, being tough doesn't count, it's being clean that wins.

I tend to agree with you, We are SS lovers and only purchased 2 resin devices to give them a try as their are some good designs. Will keep them for short time wear and stick with the SS most of the time

Another advantage of stainless steel is that it has a high conductivity of heat, whereas plastic is much more of an insulator.
With SS, sweat is drawn away from the skin and evaporates, the steel transfering heat to the moisture quickly, so the skin stays fairly dry. With plastic the moisture is trapped and doesn't evaporate, and a warmer more humid environment makes skin sore easier.

Steel being stronger also tends to not enclose quite as much as plastic, which also helps reduce the humidity.
