    Hi everybody,

I would like to ask your opinion /experiences with measurements for red chilli.

I'm now wearing the nano cage v4 from holy trainer with 45 mm ring. It fits perfectly, just the hygiene is not so easy.

I was measuring due to sizing instructions on red chilli homepage, and it looks I would need the 50 mm ring. Can it be such difference? Does have anyone experience with switching from holy trainer to red chilli? Do you choose the same ring diameter or bigger?

    Thank you for answering.

Have you measured yourself 10 times?
If not, go do it again. At different times of day. On different days.

You might have been a little excited at the prospect of a new cage, where you measure runs over the penis root, that could account for it.

You bought a nano with a 45mm diameter ring, but have you actually measured the ring?
Sizes quoted are nominal, The actual ring you get could be different plus or minus from the specification.

Ring thickness and material also makes a difference, I have a number of rings of different diameters, thickness and material, while they're all very similar, they all wear very differently.
I would expect that moving from a plastic to a thinner steel ring that you'd be going down in size or staying the same, not increasing.

If in doubt, talk to Red Chili. Don't expect correspondence until you're near the top of their queue and almost ready to build your device, but when you are, you'll find that they're very willing to do all they can to make sure you have a good fit. (no connection, just a happy customer).

If after remeasuring a number of times you still get confusing results, come back...

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

I measured several times already, I will do some more measurements as you advice.

I bought the holy trainer with 40 mm ring and than later I bought one with 45 mm and it is much more comfortable than the smaller one.

In the past I was always thinking in a way of smaller rings, but fitting size is for comfort very crucial.

Probably the best way is to order two ring sizes.

I notice that the Holy Trainer has an "ergonomic" ring, that isn't a simple circle - their "diameters" may be an approximation, so I'd tend to go by using the method Red Chili say, as they'll be using your measurements as they specify to fit your device to you.

A couple of millimetres can make a huge difference, there's a world of difference between 5mm diameters - and that's not catering for the fact that the HT devices doesn't really have a "diameter", as it's not a circle.
    Let's do the maths...
    40mm diameter circle = 1256 sq mm
    45mm diameter circle = 1590 sq mm
Difference in area from 40mm to 45mm is a just over 26% larger area - that's huge!

You could (should) mention when you make your order how you fit the two holy trainer rings, They might have a good idea of the translation across, they might not, but if you don't give the info, they won't even be able to say the info is of little use!

I'm not surprised there's a difference. The holytrainers have the cage part attached on the inside of the ring. Other cages have the attachment to the ring done differently, for instances at or above the ring. I have a htv2 with a 45 ring, but a metal round ring cage that is a 50. Both fit me very well.
