Security Screw & Threadlocker

    I know MM can make the modification to a device so the security screw won't loosen up after a period of time. We want to avoid sending my Jailbird in again if possible though. Since my security screw no longer wants to stay tightened, I bought some purple threadlocker. I haven't used any yet but I was curious if anyone else has tried it and had success? I know the blue is stronger but I was worried about it being too strong. There is no way we have interest in the red threadlocker.

    You can use blue Loctite blue to keep screw tight and still remove it if you want. Red is another story, try the blue

    Jemima, i can answer that, A&P is an Aircraft Airframe and Powerplant mechanic certification... Basically qualified to do any repairs and certify them.
