So I have a knock off HT V4 (I didn’t want to commit to a proper one until I knew it was right for me). I’ve been wearing it with a 55mm ring and I can only do that for a little while before it starts to get quite uncomfortable.
It’s hard to explain the specific sensation but I think it’s maybe chafing or pinching around the base of my dick behind my balls. I measured the ring to make sure and it’s 55mm internal diameter in both the X and Y axis.
It looks like 55mm is the biggest ring size that HT do and I’m pretty sure my junk isn’t especially large or thick. Could the problem be that the ring is too big?? Maybe the tube is too big and that’s having a knock on effect (I’m pretty sure it’s a small)
    Any advice is appreciated

There is a good chance you don't need a 55mm ring.

55mm does seem quite large for a base ring.

What I would also add is that the knock-off HT rings have notoriously bad moulding. I wouldn’t describe it as a seam, exactly, but if you run your finger over the inner part of the bottom of the ring you’ll likely feel a significant edge/bump on there.

That contributed to many sleepless nights with a burning sensation on the beanbag for me until I realised and took a fine grit sanding pad to it. Things were infinitely better after I did that.

I have since tried just the ring and that seems a lot more comfortable, there is still a slight bit of discomfort which is probably what you’re talking about. I’m going to get a smaller size tube and see how that feels

A lot of hinged devices come with a rubber sleeve to over over the hinge at the bottom. It is possible you could just put a band aide or something around that part... just make sure you change it if you are using a porous cover strip.

It’s a solid ring, no hinge
