Hello all! I've got a holy trainer v4 that's been working great for awhile. Unfortunately the locks are starting to rust tot he point that it's getting dangerous. I have some replacements ready and easy to order but while I was searching for replacements on amazon I found something interesting. Resin printed stealth locks. I was wondering if anyone had used one or has any reviews for the product? Here's a link.

I'd test it just for fun. But I'd also buy a decent barrel lock. Mine gets wet every day, and no rust. A little tarnish, but that washes off with soap.

    Rachel,

Is your Holy Trainer a legit version or one of the Chinese knock-offs? Up until the current cage I'm wearing (which by the way uses the same type of lock), I've never had any issues with the HT locks I've received on my legit HT devices over the past 5 or 6 years or so. I've been wearing the lock in my avatar daily, 24/7, since early August 2020 and it still looks and works fine.

Do you frequently swim in either salt water or other treated water (chlorine, bromine, etc.)? Just wondering if that could be contributing to the problem.

If it's a knock-off version, then it's probably just a cheaper metal. Purchasing a higher quality metal lock should be the answer.

The resin lock wouldn't be as strong as a metal lock, but in a resin cage it might be acceptable. In a metal cage, I would think it would be very easy to just snap it be pulling up on the cage from the base ring.

So....I vote that you try it and report back to us with your findings! :)

I've used them in the past and yes they are good and light and don't rust and also useful for avoiding metal detection.

The downside is they are weak and won't last long and they can easily be removed with any similar shaped key as it's plastic and simply bends internally to any similar key.
