Good evening, After much deliberation, fretting and waiting (to see how much weight I lose) I've decided that within the next few weeks I'm going to take the plunge and start the process of ordering a Neosteel belt (this could still take a while as I'll need to order the measuring kit, sort out measuring etc). This is quite a big deal for me, I've dreamed of being locked in one for a few years and I'm starting to feel like I'm close to realizing my dream. However... My weight/body shape is the thing that's still bothering me. After a year of (gradual) weight loss I think I have reached the point where I'm not going to easily lose any more weight (I've been walking to work for a year so I've been getting 4 miles a day). I still have a belly, that I'm not going to lose any time soon. My question is whether this is going to cause issues when wearing a hip belt. For illustration, this is when I'm pulling my stomach in: And if it all hangs out: This may seem like a silly question, but with my body shape, will a Neosteel belt be practical?
Update - I've done a little more reading on the Neosteel website and it looks like I should be fine with the ergonomic waist belt: http://www.neosteel.de/Nsepewb.htm
Get a hip belt, not a waist belt. Hip belt's upper edge is supposed to be on the level of your hip bones and thus below your belly and should be comfortable. While sitting your stomach might roll over the belt and be a bit uncomfortable but still not too bad.
Thanks SteelPants78, I'll get the hip belt (it looks like a similar ergonomic shape, rather than flat/straight, is available)
Hiya Cool you are looking after your health 4 miles a day is a very good start. I would beg to disagree about your belly is a fixture . Just look on utube for flat stomach work outs . You will suprise your self how quickly your 3 months pregnancy will disapear . I would give yourself a few weeks of sit ups ,crunches and planks, do the planks with a count down timer . See how you get on before you order your expensive belt . Xx Wendy
Thanks Wendy, Sounds like a great idea, I'll give those exercises a try. P.S. The walking has also been a great start to the day, I feel much more refreshed when I get to work. It's just a shame that it'll get more difficult at the end of the year, my workplace is going to be moving so the walk won't be part of my morning commute :-(
