Hi everyone. I have some silly questions about being locked and metal detectors. My wife finally wants me locked again full time but I worry Metal detectors at a few places. My question is, should I be worried about them? I don’t know how they work. I know airports do. But what about libraries and a dispensary. Am I gonna set alarms of and go through that? If this is a dumb question I’m sorry and thank you.

so get one that won't set off metal detectors :) Plenty of choices out there for non-metal devices!

You mention libraries and dispensaries. Typically those anti-theft devices are not metal detectors, but tuned to RF devices hidden in the books, labels, or packaging. Same tech as at department stores, etc. A metal device won’t set those off.

However, if you have to pass through a portal of sorts, that almost certainly is a metal detector, and your device will likely set it off. I say “likely” because their sensitivity can be adjusted.

we had an actual example here a few months back. Me and another CM member (we do not know each other) went to the same state fair the same week. I was wearing my Jail Bird and passed through without setting off the detector. He went through a different one and set it off and needed to explain himself.

Thank you. I know the stores have scanners for stealing. I wasn’t sure if there would be a warning sign of some kind. I guess there is one way to find out. And we could get a plastic cage but they tend to smell a lot for me.
