How long will a (genuine) HT4 last before it becomes too loose, or the locking mechanism stops working ? I have been wearing mine a little more seriously lately and it's starting to have significant play in the mechanism. It is jiggley when locked. Fortunately thanks to the design this does not lead to painful pinching the way it might in some other devices. I have been using a self-made harness to keep it snug on there, and I keep it pretty snug, so it might be getting extra distortion stress from that. cheers

oi! It happened today ! I took a hot bath, then when drying off, the tube just popped off the ring, taking the metal lock with it. The two sides of the part of the ring which the tube slides into had spread apart. I guess I'll be looking at those BadAssWorkroom models again.

Well, I am quite frequently wearing a HT V3 since 4+ years without any issues. Yes, the gap of the ring where it connects to the tube may has become a bit loose. But that was easy to correct by warming the part and pushing it closer again.
