Female mean IQ is about 4 1/2 points lower than the mean for men. The big difference is in variance, though. At IQ 120, there are twice as many men as women... at IQ 170, there are 30 times as many men as women. The same is true on the other side of the normal curve distribution... at IQ 80 there are twice as many men as women. Because most of our species reproductive resources are vested in women, nature is more conservative with women than men. Men's contribution to to reproduction is fleeting, so men are interchangeable and expendable. (That is why war has never been a significant factor in population dynamics) Nature can afford to "roll the dice" with men, sometimes it comes up 120, sometimes 80.

Think about how much the course of history might have been changed had Hillary had Bill under lock and key! She would have effectively controlled the leader of the free world (and prevented his sexual adventures)!

Your assumption that England supports the Scottish economy is way off the mark. Scotland provides more to the UK than it receives; despite what the 90+% of 'British' media tells you. If you wish for any proof then please see the following presentation by Prof. Ivan McKee:

The referendum was not a 'decisive' no. If someone had said to you that you could put every single penny and asset you own on a bet that you have 55% chance of winning and doubling it and a 45% chance of losing it all, would you go for it? No. Because, that's really quite close to a 50/50 no matter how big the number of times running it. There is a rhetoric that implies Scotland was unanimous in its decision to remain part of the UK; in actual fact if you took away the votes from the eldery - who frankly, will not be around in around 10 (max 20) years - then it was a decisive victory for the Yes campaign. Not to mention how blatantly Scotland sent a message to Westminster just last week.

Independence is coming and Britain's murderous and unfair empire that has been a scar on the world for centuries is slowly, but surely, dissipating.

I think you ended up with similar rhetoric my friend - the "blatant message" was from 50% of those who voted. So there were as many against the independence view as for it. And 1.5 million voters have a massively disproportionate representation compared to any other party. Such are the vagaries of first past the post

Having said all that, IMHO I'm not sure that politics is a matter for this site

IMO 55:45 is pretty decisive especially on a huge 85% or so turnout, far higher than general/local elections. Not unanimous of course.
No I'd not bet money on that or anything at all as I don't bet at all on principle. I agree the message Scotland sent to Westminster was massive, but was also in the wake of Sturgeon having made it clear (which she still maintains) that an SNP vote was not a call for another referendum now- it wasn't even in the SNP manifesto and she specificially ruled it out. What happens further on is another matter.

And there is no way from a ballot paper to tell the age of who cast it. And many elderly (60+ now) WILL be around in 20 years ar more. People live much longer now, and 80, 90, 100 + is becoming ever more common. I don't much care if Scotland goes independent or not - it's the decision of the Scots.

The economic argument is another matter - on the basis that Scotland gets a much greater if not total fiscal autonomy (which was promised and is certainly on the agenda) the proof will be in the pudding.

That's a really reasonable post and I agree with you.

And maid carrie - the 50% who voted had nothing to do with an independence campaign. For what it's worth, I'm not a fan of FPTP either. Did you have a look at the video I linked? What did you think?
