I think you need to have a few posts before you can do certain things. Either that or I have private messages turn off. I was in the mobile artillery in Vietnam and then in the mechanized cavalry, which is basically tanks with very big saddles. I read your online reply. I got out earlier too because they were thinning out the ranks and if you did not want to be a career soldier they let you finish your term in the reserves. What a joke that was. I was the only one in my National Guard Unit who saw combat. I had more medals than the Commanding officer. I also found a loophole in their regulations. The punishment for not attending 3 or more meetings was to do 2 years active duty. I already did more than that so I just stopped going. They couldn't do anything but send me registered letters for the rest of the year.
