What my wife and I are currently doing is that she has a group of chores for me to do to earn my release. Depending on the task, it could be one thing if it's a large task, or it might be a couple smaller tasks grouped together that all have to be done to earn the release. So then it's up to me to determine when I get released, but also her enjoyment of enforcing denial if I haven't done what had been asked from me.
