what would be causing irritation under my balls? I’ve sanded the ring pretty good. It’s not too tight. It will hurt like hell and burn for a couple hours then Stop all of a sudden. Other than that it’s the best cage I’ve had yet. Goin on 7 days locked

Sometimes, it doesn't matter what the ring is (metal, plastic, etc), some irritation can happen. Based on your description of initiation that starts and stops suddenly, I suggest a bit of lubricant on the area and see if that makes any difference. Coconut oil, or Baby Oil gel are the two most recommended choices.

I’ve been using a&d ointment. Would baby oil gel be a better solution

yes. A&D isn't a lubricant, it's for skin irritation... use that to fix the irritation, then use the baby oil gel for wear.

For me, the problem you describe occurs because of the ring grabbing and pinching skin if I don’t use lube. I like using pjur silicon lube. Generally twice per day works well, morning after shower and then before bed.

I have a cherry keeper. What you're describing is what I've felt. My cure is moisturizing cream. I've found that scrotum folds under the ring are the culprit. So I put cream (not much) below the ring on my skin then pull my scrotum through the ring which lubes it all up. Instant relief! I hope it helps!

I have not sanded or smoothed the ring. The slight friction keeps the ring in place better for me.

    Good luck!
