http://www.supraekey.com/Products/Pages/iBoxBTLE.aspxSounds like they only provide access to realtors?

"SentriLock contracts with local REALTOR® Associations or MLSs to provide a variety of products and services to help REALTORS® manage Lockboxes, including our newest Bluetooth® version. You can purchase Lockboxes through your local Association or MLS, who can then authorize you for a SentriCard®, and where available, our SentriSmart™ Mobile App, which allows you to manage your Lockbox inventory, generate secure One Day Codes for access to your Lockboxes, view access logs, and control your personal settings related to our Lockbox features."

Supra Ekey makes a similar keysafe that works over bluetooth LE. Seems to be specifically for the realtor market. The lockboxes retail on ebay for only around ~$80, but it sounds like the app won't work unless you are part of a realtor association that has some kind of account with Supra. :(

I wonder if they could be retrofitted with slightly different electronics or otherwise hacked to be more useful here...

NuSet makes a product called the NuSet 7060 Wall Mount Electronic Storage keysafe.

It retails for about $120. Basically, it's 100% digital and programmed with an external software application that is provided on usb key. You open the safe when you get it to get the usb key. Plugging it into your computer gives you access to a control application that can generate 1-time-use codes (lots of them - think of the potential), and also can set specific times when a code will be allowed to work; for instance every wednesday between 10am and 11am. You save this configuration back to the usb key, plug it into the safe, and it programs the safe.

It's a little clunky, but it works.

There's another part of the site where they mention they do sell to private markets to, so folks with supply yards and buildings to secure can buy them.

It now seems relatively easy to hack your own wifi or cell-enabled digital safe - you just need a digital wall safe, a microcontroller with wifi (or cellular), and some programming chops.

The particle.io photon is a $19 microcontroller with built around wifi and a free online service for connecting it to the rest of the web. They also have just started celling the electron ($59 + $3/mo for cellular data), which is does the same thing but with cellular. (Not sure why a safe would need cellular, but it sure is interesting for other kinky projects).

Over at the particle.io community forums, a user has posted a short guide on how to hack a photon into a cheap electronic safe / lockbox. It's a good start for anyone wanting to build their own. He didn't get into the firmware / software for controlling the safe, so if you are interested in building one let me know and I'd be happy to help out with that - I want my own wifi safe :)
