    I'm considering something in titanium!

Does anybody have experience of a titanium cage? How did it compare to plastic/nylon?

    I have none.

I have plenty with titanium bicycles. Soooooo projecting some hunches:

Somewhat lighter than steel. But no where near as light as plastic.
Titanium is far more difficult to fabricate than steel. So expect limited choices in design.
Titanium is more expensive than steel, so expect that.

strength is not an issue for a chastity device rendered in titanium.

Weight will be the only noticeable difference. As @Lazlo Toth noted, Titanium is approx half the weight of steel (for reference, aluminium is about one third the weight of steel). It is chemically resistant to anything your body would have on it or near it.

However, there is the secret knowledge that you're walking around with a titanium cage on your tonker. Can't put a price on that.

I have been wearing a titanium BAWR cage for a while.

It's noticeably lighter than the steel version of the same cage.

Yep, as above, I’ve got both steel and titanium. It’s noticeably lighter. My personal preference is I’ve found I prefer the weight of the steel as a reminder it’s there.

Giles does that mean you’ll be allowed out of your Custom Chastity device? Even for a little while?

    Only briefly.

The prototype broke a couple of weeks ago! I'm currently in my original Custom Chastity Saint. Lady Fox is considering what to send us to try next...

I thought I had the perfect cage with my MM Jailbird….and then I received my titanium looker 1. LOVE the titanium as it is about half the weight of steel. Less bobbing around, and personally I love the feel of the cage preventing erections but not the weight tugging on me.

The move from plastic/resin to stainless steel is a serious chastity game changer. The move from steel to titanium is less so, but still a major enhancement. For me it was anyway.

yes, the big difference with titanium is definitely weight. I find it easier to keep clean too, though not sure there is science behind that theory. But for the weight difference alone I found titanium a worthy investment.

@Giles_English if you’re looking at titanium, from personal experience I can recommend Steelworxx and Badass Workroom.

I've had a CC Saint, an MM Jailbird & am now happiest in titanium BAW BA-28 which I'm sure would suit your circumstances.

Saint was bulky, Jailbird was heavy (some prefer that) but BAW is light & unobtrusive whilst rock-solid and 'easiest to live with' - peeing / walking / working / sleeping / washing / driving etc - by far.

    I also broke two Kink3d / K3D genuine Cobras.

Are there any allergy concerns with the titanium cages? I have been wearing SS Mature Metal cages for almost 4 years, but suddenly apparently developed an allergy, probably to the nickel in stainless steel.

My bad ass 28p hasn’t caused any sort of skin reaction after six months of pretty well constant wear. It is also much lighter than steel - really not much more than plastic. Highly recommend titanium.

Yes, two versions of tube jackets from steelworxx, modified to work with frenum instead of pa piercing. Light weight was especially important. works very well.

    in summary
    - much lighter than steel
    - more expensive

I have a personalized titanium cage (similar to a BA-34) with a glans retainer ring.

I will say that titanium is by far the greatest-feeling material for a cage that I have ever worn. Comparing it with plastic or nylon is no competition, and I would argue that comparing it with stainless steel isn't much of one either.

Firstly, titanium is noticeably heaver than plastic, but much lighter than stainless steel. It gives the device enough weight to feel secure and to hold down your member, but ultimately it's so weightless that you barely notice you're wearing it.

Secondly, titanium feels very clean and natural. Any bodily substances just slide off it effortlessly, so hygiene is no concern. Often, chastity can feel a bit like a chore, being constantly vigilant about your hygiene, smell, health, etc. With titanium, it feels no more significant an investment than wearing a ring or a watch.

Thirdly, titanium is very strong. With a plastic cage, no matter how well it is made, you understand that you could easily break it if you wanted. With titanium, you are not breaking it. The tools necessary to do that are not tools you would want anywhere near your intimate parts. If you're locked in a titanium cage, you either pick the lock, or you're not getting out. Full stop. The knowledge of that predicament is intoxicating.

All this together makes for a wonderful experience. Every other cage I've worn (plastic, silicone, resin, nylon, stainless steel, even a full belt) has been something I tolerated. Titanium feels like something that's a part of me.

I have several 3D printed custom made titanium devices, all the good was the same with the previous posts. And the extra thing here is I can pass the TSA in airports, I spend some time flying around for travel without any problem. Right now, the only material I will use for 3D printing cage is titanium.
