You know some people aspire to a fantasy that can never be reached because it doesn't exist. They spend their whole lives in search of something they have dreamed up because it makes their real lives bearable.....one day......one day............when one day.......one day if only.... The tragedy is that they wake up one day and realise that that one day they always dreamed of, did come, but they were so busy looking forward to that one day, they missed it....they had it, it's now been and gone & they let it slip through their fingers......... Look at what you have already got, not what you think you want!
MasterG63, This is good advice: Sometimes music lyrics spring to mind, as they are quite often more eloquent than I: "Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time. Plans that either come to naught, or half a page of scribbled lines." (Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, Time) Perhaps that's why I prefer a more agressive title to your post: "Carpe Jugulum". ptathuk
Great advise....None of us know when our day is up, so live like it is tomorrow, and love life, live life, and feel life. Love and Lashes Mistress FeatherHawk
Well, isn't that the truth !! And what an excellent way to say it. I can say that as time goes by, what I regret is the things I didn't do and will never again have a chance to do, not what I did. Seize the day indeed !! Kinkish1 "Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way The time is gone The song is over Thought I'd something more to say" That Pink Floyd cat sure could write, couldn't he ?
Might be my mildly buddist beliefs showing through, but to spend a life wishing for what is not, is not to live that life. We live through good times and bad times. Bad times may be bad but they do making us stronger and wiser ( well, some people anyway - lol ) and the good times are to be treasured.
WOW all these Pink Floyd fans, I love it. We're just 2 lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year I agree its important and valuable to appreciate what you have, and not feel regret or remorse over what you think you want and dont have.
Yep, nothing like bloomin' where you're planted. Maybe the grass really is greener on the other side, but you don't know how much their lawn-care costs! :xd:
[Stupid editor cited 'errors' in previous post - WITHOUT telling me it went ahead and posted it anyway. So I ended up with a duplicate post, which I'm hereby un-duplicate ] BTW - Did you notice that there's no 'Delete' button for such situations? All you can do is edit the duplicate down to a single space, or else replace it with this kind of stuff. Bummer!
We usually delete them as we come across them, no-one prior to this has found reason to throw a hissy fit....
I would have never known unless you told me. Clearly you must clean them up so promptly I've never seen one. By all means, go ahead and delete the 2nd one (and this 3rd one, too). Only the 1rst one has anything worth reading.
