I'm working a 3 week project in Egypt and there are metal detectors and x-ray machines in ANY hotel worth staying in. I was hoping to keep my device on for the whole time but that's just not happening. So the next best thing, I put it on in the evening to keep from temptation and take it off in the morning before my driver arrives.

Two more weeks and I can fly home then two days after I get home, doing a 7 day cruise which will be another hassle with metal detectors. It's just aggravating...

    Such a hard life ;)

Three weeks in Egypt with a driver and then a cruise. I don't know how you cope!

I guess that's the price of security in a place like Egypt - better safe than sorry ;)

Lol, It's not as glamorous as it sounds. There is no way in hell I would drive here because this is the craziest driving I've ever seen and I've been in at least 25-30 different countries.

It rarely is as glamorous as it sounds. My Wife occasionally travels internationally with her job and when she returns is thoroughly exhausted. She has seen places like the Hagia Sofia in Istanbul but rarely has time to actually enjoy them which is equally frustrating.

Egyptian driving takes some getting used to. Worth knowing that Egyptians use hand signals to have chats across the room, street, wadi etc, and are used to the idea of using signals to communicate. Now watch what they're doing with the lights and indicators.

Whatever else they're signalling with them, it isn't the intention to turn left or right. ;)

Agreed. It seems pretty safe here but they are very security conscious and some of the most friendly people I've even been around.

FYI my Holy Trainer went through an airport standard metal detector without setting it off a few weeks ago. It hadn't been our intention to test out what would happen but in the rush to get ready to go to he airport my Wife left the key behind! I did get a funny look from the guy on the full body scanner but I am lucky that I am one of those people who really don't care what anyone thinks about my chastity device.

It may be stating the obvious, but no visit to Cairo is complete without a visit to The Museum Of Antiquities. And if you are not staying there, a visit to The Meena House Hotel for a drink is highly recommended, particularly as it is adjacent to the Pyramids.

Although I only get to travel domestically (USA) for work, I appreciate the security scanner issues. I suspect it is much more intense internationally. I haven't had the opportunity for international travel in a number of years. Nonetheless, I am going to invest in a non-metallic cage for work trips. I prefer metal for regular, long-term wear, but sacrifices must be made. Even though many folks have said they haven't experienced any issues with going through security with a metal cage, why create an issue if it isn't necessary. The security folks are looking for real threats, so why distract them from their job with a non-threatening, caged penis. :D

When my Wife and I went to the courthouse to get our marriage license I set off the metal detector. The guard said it was my midsection. I claimed "jewelry" after a very flustering barrage of thoughts about "What do I say?" while he was just looking at me expecting some sort of explanation. It was removed when we went in for the ceremony. :p
