In this pictures you can clearly see the difference.
Next year I will probably order a new cage. Wanna reduce length by 2 points, incide and base diameter by 1 point.
Also get screw instead of padlock and now order a double ring as a bonus.

Thanks for this info and even the pics were a nice touch to see how it holds better. Gonna have to consider upgrading the ring I think.

I ordered a jailbird last week and went with the double ring and after seeing this discussion I am very thankful I did.
This will be my first custom cage and I am hoping that it’s as escape proof as possible.

Almost a month since we upgraded to the double base ring and 200 days since we locked my PA to the cage. We couldn't be happier.

So, still the same situation with the more controlled/less pronounced Morning Wood? That alone would have me interested in the double ring.

Exactly! Also no danger of a ball escaping. We had that happen a couple of times over the year(ish) that we had the single base ring.

I appreciate your post and from the pics it does look like a double ring helps prevent slippage.

But it also looks like your balls do not hang low which, annoyingly, is what I'm lumbered with and that's why cages slip down.

I'm really keen to hear from anyone who could swear by a double/triple ring and say it would not slip down my dick overnight.

Please, give me feedback, I need some hope!

Interestingly, my ball sack varies dramatically over the day and night. During the night it relaxes completely and the 'picture' is totally different.

One of the primary reasons we went to a custom Mature Metal cage in the first place was that the various off-the-shelf plastic cages we tried always slipped off at night. This is even with various 'anti-pull out' mechanisms.

During the approximately year that I wore a custom-fitted cage with a single base ring, the cage never came off at night, although I had one ball escape a small number of times. Since we went to the double base ring, even that has not happened.

As you can see from the above images of morning wood, even with a fair amount of pressure, my cage does not slip off and with the double base ring the amount of slippage is quite minimal.

I don't know your exact situation. Nobody will be able to guarantee that a double, or even triple, base ring would solve your problem, Having said that, I think that a properly fitted custom cage with a wider base ring is your best bet.

Thank you for your reply, you've been helpful and informative, I appreciate that.

You've helped push me towards taking the plunge with a Jailbird from Mature Metal, just need to decide whether to go for double or triple ring.

I also think I'll get the anti pullout pins too, as I assume they will help prevent slippage.

Just to give you an idea of my situation, years ago I bought a Holy Trainer when they first came out - woke up in the morning and a night time erection had pushed the device almost entirely down my shaft. Zero security. It was still attached to me as my balls hadn't slipped through, but it was no effort at all not to pull my dick out of the cage. I've spent (wasted?) a lot of money over the years on inadequate cages and that's probably the best example of wasting money.

I think I may have read this elsewhere too, that a wider ring would be better. I assume, to use Mature Metal parlance, you mean oval?

Please keep in mind that the punishment pins are not anti-pull out. They hurt when getting an erection!!! We do not recommend wearing them longer then for play.

Ah okay, thank you, I didn't know that. Sure I read somewhere, maybe on this messageboard, that the pins could help with anti-pull out. Maybe they're too big for that?

I'm just desperate for a cage that doesn't slip off in the night!

You may have been confused by my comment about the ‘anti-pullout’ devices that didn’t work on the various plastic cages we tried before finding MM.

Make sure that when you measure for your cage that you take your time and do it right. When we placed our initial order we found the correct size, but thought we should go smaller in the base ring.

THAT WAS A MISTAKE. Fortunately, we got a new larger base ring and everything has been fine.

So your base ring was too tight? That worries me as I can't decide which ring size to get.

I've got the sizing rings and have narrowed the choice down to two. I know the advice, about being able to slip a finger through, but still feel worried I'll get the wrong size.

I'm in the UK so it feel like I've got one shot at this, as the postage costs to send it back for adjustments etc would be a fortune.

The advice we got, which ultimately worked like a charm, was able to get my index finger under the base ring on the top of the penis shaft from the front to the back up to the first knuckle.

When we first ordered our cage we were so concerned about slippage that we ordered a smaller base ring than recommended by the above measurement. That was our mistake.

The base ring we ended up with was the size we found based on the measurement as described above. That has been secure and comfortable 24/7 for a year-and-a-half and counting.

Neither I nor anyone can tell you what to order. I can only tell you what worked for us. I hope you find something that works for you.

We have found truly long-term chastity to be very rewarding. I wish you the best in your journey.

You will be hard pressed to find someone who knows their stuff, works with you like a friend, and builds such quality devices as Mature Metal. Both of my devices were perfect fits first time after carefully and repeatedly measuring, and listening to her advice. I have 2, one a Watchful Mistress , and am now wearing a shortened Queenskeep (essentially a modified Jailbird) . I had the ring made smaller last year, when I also shortened the cage to the minimum and still keep the lower bar, about 2 1/4-2 1/2 inches long. and it has worked to stop occasional ball escape. However, I have since started taking testosterone shots weekly, and that makes your balls shrink, so I actually had a ball pullout a few days ago with the smaller (oval) ring. After reading Echo 231's fascinating journal blog , I am thinking of ordering the Jailbird Mini his wife surprised him with . After reading this blog, and from previous discussions with Mistress MM, I think I would go for the double ring too. The morning wood 2 ring vs. one ring photos were very helpful and enlightening.

We loved the double base ring so much that we ordered a triple. It arrived yesterday and looks great. It's definitely heavier than the double. Iz is out of town until the 21st, but we'll post an update with pictures as soon as she returns and can put it on.

On a side note, we have a screw lock and had the screw head countersunk at the same time the base ring was being constructed for us. This is a great enhancement to the security of the cage. No using a pair of pliers to unscrew the screw. It's not coming out without the key.

Thank God for duplicate cages. That way, we can indulge our love of upgrades and mods without having to unlock.

After talking to Mistress Mature Metal, I found out a couple ring is not what I need to get rid of ball burn. When she asked if it was at 6 o 'clock and I said Yes, she said I need to increase the gap slightly. Glad I spoke with her.

Does the double ring decrease the ball gap?

No, the gap is measured at the bottom of the ring between the cage and ring. This way it does not matter how many rings the base ring has.
    Good questions.

ah ok, so effectively the extra ring is added to the back of the base ring
