If we've narrowed the discussion down to "risk of exposure", then I believe we should begin talking about "intent".

If, during the course of daily life, there is a risk of exposure, the moral/ethical dilemma then becomes, I think: does the wearer intend to be exposed?

If there is intent to expose oneself, with or without chastity (or kink for that matter), it seems readily agreeable to state that said intention is wrong (without consent).

If there is no intent to expose oneself, with or without chastity/kink, but through the course of daily life, one is exposed even despite their best efforts, it seems much harder to readily agree the wearer was in the wrong here.

I do believe that opens the debate up further to define what "best efforts" entails.

Quick edit: Re-reading your statement, I think we actually agree here that chastity is kink by definition. If the claim you're making is that people are trying to avoid agreement that chastity is kink by way of identity, I think I see your point more clearly. Though I still would question whether that's actually the case, and how relevant it is to the conversation at hand.

When is in poor taste/unethical to go locked, even when there's no risk of exposure?

I hate to agree with the A-holes here, but there are ways to minimize risk to be essentially zero.

I would stress "part of" my identity, as are many other aspects of my life. Father, husband, pianist, guitarist, singer, cook, biology student... etc...
