Apologies if this should be posted elsewhere. For me and my wife, being locked up has been an on again off again thing. Currently we are in an 'on again' state and I've been locked up for almost 2 months now. For reasons that are neither here nor there its looking like I'm going to be locked up for the foreseeable future. I've been using a (knock off) Holy Trainer 2 for several years. I've gotten used to it to the point I no longer know it is there most of the time. My issue is that the HT2 gets dirty pretty quickly. It doesn't help that I have the bladder control of a toddler and have to use diapers (for #1 only) 24/7. I have to unlock and clean every couple of days or bad things start to happen. I'm interested in some suggestion of other cages to try. I spent a bit of time looking around and just got overwhelmed at all the options out there. I do have a couple of requirement that do limit things quite a bit. Anyways, I'd love any suggestion for a cage that.... 1- Is not metal 2- Takes a pad lock (or the numbered plastic locks / safety seals) 3- Works with a small member (I'm a grower, not a shower) 4- Can mostly be cleaned without being removed Thanks!
Yeah I really like the HT, they are comfy but they are a total nightmare to keep clean. I quite like this one, you can use a separate lock for the front so you can have cleaning access only: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005497432105.html Or this one is not too bad to keep clean: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005393549416.html you can get them without the ball bar too I think these possibly come with an insert so you can use plastic tags, if not you can get them separately Or an openish cherry keeper might be a good idea: https://cherrykeeper.com/
Good luck finding a non-metal cage that doesn’t need to be removed for deep cleaning. Anything plastic or resin is going to absorb odours from bodily fluids.
Do they have a name? I've been searching and I'm not seeing any. I don't really know what to even search for.... magic lock to plastic lock converter? Plastic lock insert? I've tried a number of terms and am coming up empty.
There are two parts to it, you need to fill the lock hole with something like this to properly secure the cage or it wont stay in the correct position: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004523719548.html Some cages come with this part but they usually fit in other devices too, you can also 3d print these. Then you can get the plastic tag locks, they thread through the above, for this to work the cage must also have a hole at the back end of the lock area for the tag to pass through, a lot of them do anyway but if not you can drill a small hole. This looks like a decently priced option which has the plastic part and some tags: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004552667133.html This kind of shows how it works:
