I was thinking of a concept for a tetherspout. What if you didn't have to put a retainer on it, but the end was inflatable with air (or a liquid), so that a balloon formed at the end. You can only deflate this again if you can remove the cap with a wrench. Wouldn't a tetherspout be easier to insert but also more comfortable?

Sounds interesting but it's likely to be very close to impossible to produce. Given it has to be hollow I can't think of a realistic way to achieve what you're describing.

It's like a small balloon catheter, essentially. Commonly made out of rubbery materials, but not sure how one might make it out of a mix with the spout in metal.

I tested this concept today with a indwelling catheter, i placed the balloon just inside the glans and inflated with aprox 2-2,5ml of water.
In my case it inflated the balloon to aprox 15mm diameter which completely locked it inside without being able to pullout without extreme discomfort.

If one would use a indwelling cath with an open tip, one could urinate normally, yet be unable to pull it out.

Wow, that would be nice if that could be made. A rubber around a tube that comes up around the tube, so that you can continue to urinate through the tube.

Thanks for testing end your reply.
