CAGE HAS 2 KEYS — WIFE KEEPS ONE - BEST PLACE FOR AN EMERGENCY KEY AT HOME?

I could see that being the regular key, but not the emergency key. There's no way you should rely on someone else needing to provide you with the emergency key (especially someone who doesn't live int he same house).

 

Still accessable if needed but not extremely easy to get to. Also, thanks for being a sarcastic asshole

 

Frozen keys or keys given to a BFF ain’t in my opinion specific not emergency keys. An emergency key is a key witch you can use in a split of time when time is critical!

Personally like others we don't have an emergency key. 'nuff said on that as there's plenty of other threads discussing that subject.

Keep it at work, that way when home there'll be less chance of temptation.

A cheap, simple and quite secure option that doesn't take much space your wallet or pocket:

Collect a few different business cards when you're in another city or state so that they're all unique and difficult to impossible to replace at short notice.
Then wrap one of the cards with the key in clear tape and carry it in your wallet or phone case so that it's always with you.
If you don't trust yourself and want to make it even more tamper proof, your keyholder can sign and photograph it.

If you want to be really strict about it, you could carry a spare unique card so that if you did have to use the key, you could then re-secure it with photographic proof for your keyholder.

Being quite good at breaking things and knowing the weak points of those little padlocks, I know I can crack mine open in seconds if I had to, so I've never bothered with an emergency key, but if you aren't confident in being able to do that, then yes, an emergency key is a good idea. Whatever makes you feel safe and sexy.

…and “not extremely easy to get to”, is so very useful in an “Emergency”!

 

Usually we keep it frozen in a block of ice in the freezer. Yes, I can get to it if needed but not easily. It is there for an emergency only. At this point she could leave it on the kitchen table and I wouldn't touch it unless absolutely necessary. The punishment I would receive isn't worth it.

 

If you want your key any easier to get to, you might as well leave it out on a table or even in your lock

 

As the OP has a wife, an emergency key needs only to be detectable in its use not difficult.

• Tamper evident deposit bag, about 10 cents a piece.
• Paper envelope that his keyholder signs across the sealed flap about a penny.

Slowing someone down just doesn’t have a point for an emergency key.

Of course that’s if you believe emergency keys are necessary, which I don’t.

I have my emergency key in a key shaft that I can attach to the waist band. Just in case of an emergency whit not being able to communicate anymore…

When you don’t have an emergency key on you, they’ll get the toolbox out of storage, and the belt will be cut.
But why would you waist any valuable time to loose that belt if there is an emergency? If you are on ER there is no time to waist…. And I think they have seen it all except for newby’s….

 

I've not seen anything better than my credit card laminate yet, but the keyword here is 'emergency' ...

In a critical health situation I don't give a shit if the ER cut-off anything - up to & including body parts - to save mine or someone else's life.

A more likely scenario is one testicle painfully popping out & hindering my ability to walk / travel / work / reproduce. I want the second key tamper-evident, but immediately to-hand.

When you need it most, you better have it!

 

We do the same thing. My Goddess keeps it in a sealed envelope, and she put her signature across the envelope flap

 

You can see my wifes key safe in my profile pictures. It's a combination lock, so she could tell me the code if I must have it.

 

Husband is handy, He also has a job where he works with tools (If he's not working in the office) so I don't give him a key. He has all kinds of tools at home and in his truck. We use a CB-6000, so it's not hard to cut something and get it off. On the CB-6000, all you have to do is cut one of the guide pins and you can get it off.

When I think he might not be able to get to some tools if he has to get it off, I use a cheapie lock he can easily pry or pick rather than the real Master lock.. He says I even don't have to do that because he even cut the front one of the extra guide pins they give you with pair of scissors then the lock just fell off..

When I first introduced husband to Chastity, I got one of those Chinese knockoffs on ebay. I did it in case it wasn't going to work out I wouldn't of spent $150 or whatever it was, only $20. The Chinese knockoffs come with the guide pins not attached to the thingy that goes on top of the that goes on the big ring thingy and goes in thru the back... I put it on husband to try it out. Husband looked at it, pulled one of the guide pins back out and got it off. He told me you had to have the guide pins attached. He had some Super Glueo r something we used to attach the guide pins.

Once we decided it was going to work, I got the real thing from Kept for Her. (which i hear is out of business).

 

I have no idea where either key is and I trust her enough to know she will have it covered 27 years of marriage

 

I have an MM security screw, so the key is unique. What my KH has done is we bought a kitchensafe and she'll re-up the time pretty frequently. It has my emergency key in it; so I can break the box in an emergency, but I also know it's like 60 bucks down the drain. It's very effective... and clear which is especially frustrating.
