Is the kink3d cylinder lock size different from the standard lock or is it the same size? I’m looking to replace the current lock with a new lock and new keys. Will it work?
I’m not sure about the name of it, but I have a stainless steel cylinder lock, that is completely different than the standard brass stealthy lock. It’s longer, by about a quarter of an inch. It has 5 pins and a more complex key, and doesn’t fit the standard device that uses the brass one because of the length. I got it when I bought my device from badassworkroom, I’m sure you could look it up or ask them, but I’m sure it’s made by someone.
I have a BAWR cage, two Kink3D cages and some knockoff cages from Amazon. They all have the same types of cylinder locks.
I have 2 bawr cages, 2 emotion cages and some cheaper ones. The BAWR locks have a different shaped pin (the part on the end that rotates into place) than the others. It has straight sides where the others have a slanted side, so they won't fit into the bar cage
I don’t know what types of locks you guys have. As I mentioned, my BAWR lock is identical to the Kink3d lock, and they can be used interchangeably.
BAW uses a totally different barrel lock unless you ask them for a Burg W style lock. Here they are next to each other.
I agree. The only upside to the BAW lock is there are more tumblers and as such more key variations. With a Burg style there are only a handful of different keys out there. I have had several different cages with Burg locks and invariably some of the keys work other locks. As we all know any of these are very easy to pick so it becomes a moot point...
We have a burg type lock.I nice to know when we get a custom cage we can change over lock and she can still use and wear the pretty key we order instead of the real long ugly keys
Good to know they have different types of locks. I didn’t ask for anything special though. Didn’t put any specification on lock types. Maybe it’s dependent on the model of cage?
Was yours a custom cage or one of the stock ones? How old is it? The only thing I can think of is the stock pre-made cages might use the Burg style lock or yours is older and back then they used to use the Burg (I don't know if that's true, just guessing).
