Had my PA done 5 weeks ago today, at 3.25mm. The fear and nerves in the piercing studio were worse than the actual piercing. Quick, sharp pain, then done.
Bled what I thought was quite heavy for 5 days, but probably looked worse than what it was.
What nobody prepares you for is the pain, tenderness, and funny walks to try to avoid contact. And also the painful pees. This lasted more than a fortnight. I tried to ease it by wearing soft trousers, like jogging bottoms.
I've cared for it well, and everything seems to be healing nicely. It's still weeping clear fluid, slightly, but still 3 weeks to go until full heal time. Piercer recommended waiting 12 weeks until I start to gauge up. He said to go up 1mm at a time, with 4 weeks between each stage.
Just thought I'd let would be piercees know my experience, and so glad I had it done.

You should be fine to play a sport after a week or two. I should be healed enough to stop making cruft by then. Three months is healed enough to use as an anchor for a CB. (I have a PA and I played ice hockey.)

    I was pierced last year.

The process is simple and quick. Piercers tend to be professional and non judgemental. They're doing these a couple of times a month, typically.

If you're uncut, like me, it will be done slightly off-center. Which is mostly fine.

I read in advance that the pain is equivalent to getting your flu shot. Let me say that my experience was NOT that painless. It's possible that because I'm uncut that my head is more sensitive. But that was a solid 7 or 8 out of 10. But it's overwith quickly. I'd do it again, no problem.

The aftercare is important. Keep it clean. Don't irritate it. Help it heal.

The area gets a lot of blood flow which means 1) lots of blood, but also 2) fast healing.

I still say 3-6 months before you try doing anything that might stress it.

    Things to consider:

I now have a hard time wearing standard ball trap tube devices because I need to have a piercing in to stop the hole closing, and most tubes don't allow enough space for that.

Most pa devices are designed with the circumcised man in mind. They're not anticipating navigating around foreskin. Meaning usually it's going to need to be retracted, which can cause edema.

If, like me, your piercing is off-center, that's not usually a big deal, but again three devices aren't designed with that in mind so you're going to be a little twisted.

You're going to want to eventually stretch up. You'll be pierced at something like a 12 or 10 gauge (lower number = bigger hole) and before you start with a long term chastity device, particularly something with any weight in it, you'll want to be up to at least an 8ga. Otherwise you're going to run the risk of slicing into your dick any migrating your piercing (or worse.)

I saw someone say that this will never heal over. Do your own research. I say that's exactly wrong. This thing heals up QUICKLY. I'm talking: if you take it out for a couple of hours you often have to stretch the hole to work the jewelry back in. It starts shrinking again that quickly.

If you're using something like a Bijou or a BA workroom device that leaves your piercing empty when you remove the device for fun times, you might not want to remain uncaged for too long for this reason.

Just some stuff to think about.

Is that your experience or what you’ve heard?

It was my biggest fear. Thankfully it’s not been the case for me. The worse is some dripping down my jewelry. So just making sure I hold it so it won’t run on my pants is the solution. Otherwise no peeing issue!

I mean, in my experience it will often leak from the new hole. However, the "spraying" is more the result of being caged than the piercing. You know how it is. Peeing in chastity is a challenge.

Well, since we usually are used to pee seated or squatted there shouldnt be a big deal.

As for sports, I think it really depends on how fast you are healing and what activities you engage in.

I got mine a week ago Tuesday. I ran on day 9 and day 11, and day 12 I rode my bike 20 miles. Each time I taped some gauze around the head and piercing so that the ring was not able to move at all. No issues.

You can also consider using a tetherspout. It functions the same as a PA (ie you can't pull out at all), but doesn't require any kind of permanent body modification. That is what I use and I have no problem with it overall (installing it can take some getting used to). The real selling point is that you can try it right away. You don't have to schedule an appointment for a PA and then have to wait to heal.

Check out this if that sounds good to you:
    https://badassworkroom.com/products/tetherspout-for-non-piercing-chastity

It's the tetherspout, various retainer sizes and even a lock.
