Been a lurker for a while and I like the concept of this subforum here. Figured it was time to contribute some content.

First few days of chastity were marked with access to the emergency key for general cleaning and “adjustments”. I found myself naturally quick to use a key. So, it was time to get a real plan together.

Approach 1–airbolt with 3d printed key box

This had great potential but was a bust. On paper, there was a share option to allow guest access to the device. This involved a clunky bluetooth process that was unreliable. There was a time I needed it, but it failed us. Fortunately I had planned for this with the 3d printed key box. I was able to cut the key box and use the key even with the lock not opening. I worked with the company to try to resolve the bluetooth issue. Ultimately there was not a path forward so we returned the devices.

My wife has low patience for too much tech but also understood we needed a solution. She challenged me to solve the problem of the airbolt.

    Approach 2- igloohome padlock

This is a step up in weight and cost, but is seemingly perfect. Their software is far superior. A key difference is no bluetooth is required. There is an algorithm in the lock and app that can generate a number of pin codes that can be texted. Then, if you need more flexibility, there is a bluetooth access process that can be configured for time windows and number of uses. Then what is nice is you can have a pin number that requires no phone, no wifi, no bluetooth.

My avatar shows the first gen solution to solving how to get a small keyring hole through a padlock shackle. This worked but it was clumsy. Second gen is featured below and I designed a new 3d printed box with a hole that fit the shackle.

We liked the approach and ended up with two of these locks. One for my travel bag and one for home. She has a 6 digit pin she can type in or use the app. Both are as fast as fetching a key from a drawer.

A nice advantage of this is when I get let out, I can clean up and relock the key without engaging her in the process. For her, everything is time stamped and she can inquire as she desires.

I use a similar approach using the Igloohome 3 box, I have a pin code for each timeframe where I need to unlock due to sport.

I almost got the box for home. I was a little concerned about the size and decided to see if I could make the padlock work first. I can see a place for the box in the future though.

Just a white envolope with her signature on both sides, key inside and packing tape used over whole enevolpe. I can get it if I have to, but she will know for sure.

@Hey1234 : I wouldn't overthink this one... I just have your wife have an emergency key somewhere in the house, and keep some type of tamper-proof evidence on it if she thinks it is necessary.

I get the simplicity angle and we started there. The tech was an added element of excitement and the problem solving added interest. I needed a solution for outside the house. My wife needed a solution that wasnt close your eyes while I go through the dresser drawer.

Small envelope, fits in wallet, same size as a credit card.
The tech is even less necessary than the emergency key itself

I'll never understand the complicated emergency key methods. It's supposed to be for emergencies, right? What if the person who controls the bluetooth lock isn't reachable when said emergency happens? Then What?

Just use a small envelope, or wrap it in tape, or here's an idea - have some will power and don't use it.

Yes, there are many ways of approaching this. I simply shared mine. As for what happens if the tech does not work, the key is enclosed in 3d printed plastic which can be broken in time of need. It is the same as an envelop with signature in this way.

Now the question of tech or no tech is simply an personal choice. It is like wanting a “smart watch” over a analog watch. There are different features but it is hard to justify that there is a need for a smart watch if you boil the needs down to only the ability to tell time (hold a key).

Saw something like this, don’t remember where, and decided to just make my own. Used a random chuck of aluminum in the metal stash.

anyway, I can get the key if needed, but she would know. I am to make all efforts to make contact with my wife / KH to ask if the emergency key use is warrant. If I can’t get ahold of her, then it’s up to her discretion if it was warranted or not.

She use to have it hidden around the house. Problem with that, is the one time I needed it, I was unable to get ahold of her. Thus, she was unable to tell me where it was. So, now we have this solution.

Both great ideas! My Madam doesn’t believe in emergency keys, she has one set in her purse or hand bag and the second set is kept at her mothers house somewhere.

My emergency key is kept with me while I am at work, God forbid I get injured at work and have to go to the hospital, she doesn't want me to be caged at that point.

This has always been my favorite besides the envelope. You can leave it on the dresser, he can look at it all day, carry it in his pocket, or you can rattle the box when he's not paying you attention. Like Pavlov. And although it's a simple craft, I like the look.

An even easier version of your piece of aluminum is to use a short piece of copper tubing and flatten it down to where the key will just fit in and then drill a hole for the safety seal

My BIL is and ER MD and I'm certain that someone coming in with a chasity device would be closer to the normal end of the spectrum compared to what they see daily.

That's very interesting, I would be curious to know how many people practice chastity here in the North East USA. I'm almost 55 and I've never met anyone who has or seen the keys around anyone's neck.

Mine are taped inside dollar bill folded to a size of a credit card. Then she signs and dates it before wrapping it completely in clear packaging tape. She has a picture of it showing the serial number so there's no way to duplicate it. I haven't used it in years and she goes thru my wallet and checks randomly

Many good ideas above. I like the plastic box for sure.

My key that resides in the backpack has a distinct little rattle. Not enough to draw attention but just enough to where I hear it and know what it is.

    Interesting.

Our solution to the emergency key was to lock it in a clear lock box with a standard combination padlock. (This one: https://oxy-shop.com/products/the-chastity-key-safe-games-keyholding-service)

In an emergency she could text me the combination to the lock. This also allows me to bring the key with me on business trips without having access to it. Again, if something came up she could text the combo and I could get to the key.

There might be a better solution, but this has worked for us so far. There's also something torturous about being able to see the key in the clear box but not get to it.
