We started chastity 4 years ago and I've got a collection of cages. I have a plastic one for travelling (to get through airports) and recently bought one of the new, mamba resin cages. Had a terrible reaction to it with blistering on my penis and sack. It's better now after a couple days out and hydro-cortisone. Wondering if anyone else has had similar issues or if I'm just lucky.

I ordered a Cherry Keeper in black for travel also. PK tried it on for a day when it arrived and experienced the same conditions you did. Come to find out the dye used to turn the device black was the culprit. Many dyes (hair color, Rit dye) contain heavy metals that some folks have reactions to. Reordered the device in plain white and all was good.

I have a black Cobra resin cage and after a few hours wearing it my balls and penis were itchy. I removed the cage but my genitals were red raw and weeping. Seems to be clearing up after a couple of days. I was planning to use the Cobra when flying, but guess I will just have to remove my metal cage and put it back on after landing. Wish I had known about this issue beforehand!

I’d try to figure out if the reaction was to the dye or the resin. The resin used in 3d printing can cause extremely bad reactions when it’s uncured and repeated exposures can create a sensitivity that gets worse with each exposure. I guess it’s possible for there to be trace amounts of uncured resin in a new device. Some resins that are used in casting activated by MEK (methyelthylketone) and a full cure can be slowed by shorting the MEK.

I'm too afraid to try either of my resin cages again, having experienced the same type of adverse reaction with both. Initially I thought it was because the Negative cage was too small for me, but really it was more than big enough! Must be the resin itself or the dye, either way I think I'll stick with my metal device and right off the resin ones.

    Hello,

Hmm, sounds bad, even more because I got exactly the same cage from @feather as a present and because she liked the cage more than a heavy metal one. I haven't had any problems so far but I also don't want to wear anything with might be "toxic".
Is there any more qualified information about the "incredients" of this material?

It seems a small but significant percentage of people are alergic to the resin/dye used. You may be lucky to be in the majority that have no issues. You woud know within a few hours of wearing if it is a problem!

This was my worry when I ordered my custom 3D printed device, but I was perfectly fine, luckily. I have reacted to cheap metal cages in the past though.

Do you wear it 24x7 and how are you handling proper cleaning?

I have just completed 7 days without unlocking in my new cherry keeper, was very comfortable but unlocked last night and now have some skins sores from the cage, not sure if I should have applied lubricator cream every day, I showered everyday and tried to dry it as best as I can, any thoughts please.
    Thank you.

Looks lke you could be alergic to the dye in the resin. What colour is your device? People are often alergic to the black dyes.

I wore a cheap metal cage and. Also had some sores last time but think this could have been the cheap metal and not drying properly.

You could be right.. mine is also a black-dyed resin cobra. I developed itchiness which requires me to clean daily instead of several days interval. Im closely monitoring for the next few days.. im not sure if its the resin itself, dye itself or the glue which is used to join the cage and the lock ring together (my model is not extruded in a single form).. if any of these result in a skin reaction, i better dispose it and start surveying for another model.. i still love my dick (my wife too) and not ready for amputation however lack of use of it..

I had once ordered the Nub HT which was a purple as well. It had an extreme odor like some chemical even after sterilization and cleaning. What really worried me was my hands smelt of the chemicals after handling the device. Basically it went into the garage and never again would purchase any resin cage with colors. This was not a 3D printed but, resin nonetheless. Very scary and after reading this thread. So happy I went that route.

It’s frustrating as so comfortable and I love the colour, but don’t want this happening again, may need to keep ot just for going to an event.

Yes can relate I had issues similar to the cobra cage.

I have a black 3d printed resin cage that I wore for 8 weeks. I had to take it off after 8 weeks as my skin looked as though it was sunburnt even down to the peeling of the skin. Not a nice experience and have been uncaged since. I need to investigate my metal cages again as being uncaged just doesn't feel right.

I'm not allergic to anything but I've also reacted to a black (not genuine, from ebay) cobra as described in this thread.
I've just coated the inside with clear nail varnish and will try again in a few days.

I applied 2 coats of nail varnish to the inside of the cage, let it dry thoroughly and worn since with no ill effect so I think this is a solution.

I've had a horrible reaction to the cheap cobra cages off ebay as well.

ZERO issues with the authentic Kink3d that I'm wearing now.

Ooh and out of interest does the authentic cage feel different to the knock offs?
