Badass with Catheter - Is extended duration safe to wear?

I would tell you that yes you can wear that insert “long term” but most folks with any sorts of catheters or indwelling hollow plugs will say they remove once in a while for a thorough clean. I have 2 BAWR cages, as well as an “extra” cage portion for one of the devices that has a titanium insert in it…and Youming does awesome work, and both have the “permanent” option, but we changed out the set screw to a security one and use it instead…however I personally wouldn’t wear one without removing for a good clean minimum every 2-3 weeks. Some folks around also have tether spouts and leave them in essentially “indefinitely” and have no problems with them. The fact that it doesn’t extend past and inch or so and just in the urethra certainly lessens the risks for infections but having the open tip doesn’t rule them out so just be careful.

Also, does anyone know of a "plug" solution for the open catheter? Might be like a tapered silicone stopper, just to eliminate leakage and it could help prevent infections if kept clean daily.

 

I agree, you cannot be to carful with anything in dwelling and never put any thing in there that has not been sterilised first.

 

Skip the catheter. It will do nothing for security, it will be a mess during urination, leak randomly, and presents an infection risk. You're already pierced, use a PA hook.
