    you put it on, pull the nipple thru, then stick the barbell on. that shield will push the barbell (and pull the nipple) outward a bit.

    As @jet_silver said no problem if you don't put the clamp right on the bar or ring. I've had mine done for years and have never regretted it. The only thing that I noticed is that even without anything in them, I still look "cold" :oops:

    I have several shields, I got these hearts last year. Sorry it's a little out of focus.
