As you may know, we have been fighting against spam on this site for a long time. This has required enlisting a number of moderators to keep the forum in order and clear of spam. Fortunately, I've made progress in stopping the spam posts for good, and as a result we don't need quite as many regular moderators, so we have had a reshuffle. I'm toying with the idea of bringing in a temporary "Guest moderator" for 1 week at a time. I haven't worked out the details yet, but it could be fun anyone interested in having a go?
Glad to hear that progress is being made on spam. That should take the load off of the moderators somewhat; would be good if not as many moderators are needed to keep things tidy.
As a former regular Moderator whose tenure has just been terminated I should like to say what a privilege and honour it has been to serve in that capacity over the recent years. I have now done three stints, having first been asked by Jens not long after he acquired the site from MW. I hope and trust that Members will consider I have served them well. It has not always been easy, especially when Jens has not been available for various understandable personal reasons no fault of his own. Having now three with Admin functions instead of one has helped enormously. It has been long overdue IMO. I await with interest and anticipation the next set of changes yet in the pipeline. And as ever happy to PM any member at any time, though I do not use chat. to you all. Joro
