I don't use a device, but when I am edging myself I do use a cockring. One thing I've noticed is that I often find myself having very slow, 'ruined' orgasms. I don't tend to think of them as real orgasms, because I don't feel like I do after a 'real' orgasm - but if anything, I actually prefer them- the pleasure is more sustained and intense, I can often 'orgasm' two or three times this way and still feel aroused afterwards. But I do produce a lot of cum this way (one way things are different from a normal orgasm is that I love eating my cum afterwards, as am still aroused!), so I was wondering if a ruined orgasm this way is cheating myself, as I've promised not to orgasm through masturbation. I would ask my partner, but she finds this sort of question a turn off and has said she doesn't mind how I choose to please myself, as she isn't telling me to deny myself - it's a promise I made off my own back. She has said that she prefers me when I don't orgasm frequently as it makes me more urgent, but that how or whether I choose to act on that preference is up to me. It's the result of edging, and is it an orgasm? Some would say it was, others not. What do you see it as? If it's an orgasm then you're cheating on yourself, but seeing as your partner doesn't care, it doesn't really matter. If it gives you some relief without altering your mood, then it sounds like a good thing for both of you so don't worry about it.
