Splashed out on a holy trainer v5 a few months back and after having been locked for a few weeks I ent to remove it and the lock was jammed solid. The key could not be turned. I had to destroy the cage to get out I contacted the company who apologised and issued a replacement. Guess what...after being locked forma few weeks again I have just had to destroy the cage again to get out. Lock completely seized and the key won't turn New lock design appears to be a failure. Avoid at all cost is my advice
I cannot fathom being locked in one of those more than a few days. It is 100% impossible to properly clean with a well fitting one.
I am surprised to hear about your lock failures. I have an "genuine" HT v5 ...Nano... and one (knockoff) i purchased off Amazon ...Nub smaller ring.... Both have worked well. I have worn the knock off/Nub for LONG periods and owned for almost a year total. Lock has never failed me. I have had it stick slightly but using the key and keep turning it, the lock has always popped right up.
My two locks are fine, lock numbers 010 and 011. However I have had to cut off 1/4 inch of the nub tube as it was chaffing badly at the base. It’s nearly perfect now as I am sanding a tiny bit off each day until it feels just right. It was very frustrating as my Nano was too big and the nub too tight but finally after plucking up the courage to take a hack saw and sand paper to it I have nearly cracked it!
I've been regularly wearing my HT5 Nano for a little over 6 months, never had a problem. I occasionaly put a few drops of oil in the lock once a week or so, and I usually remove it to shower. The water where I live has a lot of minerals dissolved in it, maybe that's the source of your problem?
I do not trust those cabinet locks and even the new push button HT locks. I already cut my way out of a previous Holy Trainer. Got the tools to do it after trying several tools and files on my old HT's. I have a micro vice on order with a padlock. I have a big padlock cutter so no worries.
My micro Vice cage arrived an it uses a padlock which I can easily cut off with my bolt cutter if the need arises although I only use Abus locks and never had a problem with them in 12 years despite wearing them in pools and showers. It also fits me perfectly with the tip of my penis touching the end hole. They give you 5 rings and spaces with a Z spacer which does not add length to the cage. I have tired over a dozen cages and this is the best. No anti pullouts for this model which is a good thing since few I spoke to like their penises stabbed all day. I strongly recommend you use a device that uses a padlock and replace the cheap one they give you with an Arbus one for about 8 dollars and it will last you for many years like mine do. This is the first cage that actually fits me perfectly so that my penis is lined up perfectly with the end hole making it less messy to pee. It also has two side holes for squirting water in to clean better. So many guys buy cheap Chinese devices and end up giving up due to them being uncomfortable and heavy due to the cheap metal they use. Spend the money for a Vice micro, mini or clitty if you are on the smaller size like me and you will be very happy.
to echo what the others said - i assume you don't mean you tried to operate the lock after a few weeks of it not being unlocked?
I have issues from time to time with the HT v5 lock not closing or not popping up all the way when unlocking. I thought it was a defect but it’s really just liquid and grime getting into the mechanism. So I just put some Goo Gone on the lock, let it soak in and then move the locking mechanism up and down and also use the key to loosen it up. Works fine after that. Hope that helps.
