    dear all of you,

    during a chat with a good friend here, we asked ourselves: "how did people do in the pre-internet time?", "how did the cages look like before 3D-printing?", "where there some publications, magazines, catalogues for mail order?"...

    if some of you have stories, anecdotes, informations or images — that would be great, we are really curious to know more about our own past!

    Interesting Question!
    Did they have small "makers" who built devices by hand?
    Were there local communities, that left traces in literature?

    My experience in the 70s and 80s was 100% in Sex Shop or in video and magazines stores for adults.
    In some cities there were magazines for tourists who were given in the street, there was advertising of nightclubs in which some were fetish & D/s atmosphere.
    Nothing was easy in those times, videos and magazines were very expensive.

    I have heard from a small group of several couples in England, Norfolk, I think, who were into chastity belts, corsets and pony-play in the 1950s.

    I took my then girlfriend in the mid 1980s to see Hal Higginbottom at Tollyboy, to get her measured-up. I heard of his services probably through Forum magazine,

    In the 80s I remember seeing some that were made out of leather straps. Similar to our metal ones but everything was leather straps
