I finally ordered a custom device, a Mature Metal Jailbird and it is slated to arrive on Thursday. Does anyone have any good recommendations for how the misses and I should celebrate the occasion?
Unwrap it the package together, then give it a good cleaning to insure there is no stray polishing compound. Then have her lock you in it for a test. Don’t forget to take pictures!
Agree with this… Definitely wash it well! Also if you need any adjustments etc, MM is AWESOME to work with on that. When I had mine I had them make a second ring in a horizontal oval and that was a game changer in comfort…and the device was already pretty comfortable. Enjoy!!
I'm saving for a custom cage. Largely leaning towards mature metal from what I hear quality and customer service.
I can wholeheartedly recommend MM and MCN. Both make high quality devices and both have amazing customer service and generally pretty fast. Beyond that BAWR is great as well, but shipping can take a while plus if you need an adjustment it’s a pain to ship back. I had them make a “clone” so to speak in titanium using my jailbird measurement and the cage was absolutely perfect. Only think I didn’t care for was the security screw for BAWR, just not the same as what MM and MCN provide, but the cage itself was amazing quality and crazy light weight.
My only thing is so many people seem to have the jailbird it's almost not unique at this point. Granted a functional comfortable cage can only be made so many ways.
Lots of people have iPhones and I didn’t see that as a reason to be put off using one myself… I personally am not a fan of the look of the jailbird, but I image the quality to be exceptional. However, I literally have zero complaints about my BAWR.
Main reason I want a custom cage is girth. Seems 90% of cages at length I like are only 1.3 wide. To be super comfortable I'd need to be 1.5 or 1.6 be perfect.
That’s the biggest problem with custom cages. You assume you will be better in a wider cage… but until you’ve tried it you won’t know. You spend all that money to get one to ‘fit’ and you can realise that it wasn’t actually better than you had before. I was unbelievably fortunate that a standard cage was my perfect fit and I could just send off the measurements to match… that said, I went through a whole lot of standard cages to come to the right one.
Yeah same I'm on my 4th or 5th standard cage to get to know exactly what I want. My birdcage was great but too wide and felt bulky. New cage is perfect length but where I'm circumcised head gets stuck in tube sometimes. Gotta carry a q tip poke stuff in place couple times a day. Another 1/8th or so be perfect.
To each their own, and something that works great doesn’t have to necessarily be unique. MM’s design has been copied by others but certainly the quality isn’t there in mass produced. If you want more unique look, get a queens keep or another device. Part of the charm of a device like the jailbird is the comfort, and the ease of keeping clean… for me the fit and hygiene were the most important things so that I could wear long term, which is what my wife wanted. That aside, I finally got a PA a couple years ago and abandoned the ball trap devices, and now have something that functionally never has to be removed if that’s her desire - other than obvious things like medical visits (MRI wouldn’t be fun).
Oddly enough I had a PA years ago before chasity was even a thought. Took it out and now wish I still had it.
this made me think…I haven’t been in a lineup situation naked, locked and standing next to other guys thinking “damn, we all have the same cage.’ might be an interesting/awkward(?) time
A guy collected pics not long ago for a "calendar" or something. I haven't seen anything come of it. Think he just collected dick pics and ran.
Congrats on a great cage. I’ve been wearing a Jail Bird off and on for years now and it’s been the perfect cage for me. I hope you enjoy it. Be sure to share pictures if you’re comfortable so we can celebrate with you!
