I just received my 6TH Stainless cage....Now I have 12 keys that a keyed alike..lol..2 keys with a spare lock went into my travel bathroom case and all the others ringed together and have been placed inside my wooden lock box...What do you do with them? Destroy them or just keep them together? ...
Mrs Edge is famous for losing the keys (easy to do when you only use them a few times a year), so having a few extras can't be a bad thing. After she almost broke a key in my lock, I found some better barrel locks and replaced everything. Now I have an emergency key on my keyring, she has a couple, and there won't be any scrambling before we leave on a trip the doctors, etc.
I have five cages, but only use one. Some have the little padlock for them. The cage I have on now has 2 keys. My Wife (KH) wears one around her neck and I hope she has the other one hidden around the house with the other keys...
There were 4 for mine, but I couldn't be bothered to find all the hiding spots when I was abruptly being kicked out with a fever so now I only got 2.
We've accumulated a bunch of keys from all the cheap Chinese knockoffs from Aliexpress. About 8 keys or so that all look the same. Using the kitchen safe, turned it into a game: - throw all the keys in and set a timer - only one key opens the cage in use - each time the timer is up, draw a key and see if it fits! We usually do that on the weekends, setting a few hours at a time each round.
I don't have any keys for my (actually her) cage. My Goddess has them all. She has the power and control. I wouldn't want it any other way
I have 8 keys for 4 barrel locks all the same, at the moment 6 are at home and 2 are somewhere on the boat that we are holidaying on. However, a few days ago throwing those 2 overboard was mentioned, but not followed through. I have stated elsewhere that my wife enjoys PIV a lot and releases me for this, so I think she was teasing me.
We have a lot of cheap padlocks that have accumulated over the years but there are 2 sets of 4 locks, one Brinks and the other one Sears, that are in use. Each set has 4 keys and m'Lady has them all. There are also the locks to HER HTv3 and a knock off version. Newest are 2 stainless steel heart shaped locks we just received yesterday. One of those will go on HER Jail Bird and the other is already locking my new day collar in place. Again, m'Lady has ALL the keys.
We have a small padlock for my current devices (Jail Bird, Queen's Keep). My wife appears to have lost the 2nd key, so there's just the one. I have bought a newer ABUS lock with 2 keys, but we haven't used that one yet. I just ordered a new HTv3 Nano, so she will have those 2 keys soon.
Only one exists for my wife and me. My lock is a prototype plastic cylinder with a uniquely shaped "key". If it gets lost, the only solution is to destroy a part of the lock/cage to remove it. (which is not difficult, it's plastic) Locks are meant to keep honest people honest......as they say.
Two. One on her necklace, one in a sealed emergency envelope that I take with me on trips. The keys and lock certainly won’t ever wear out from use.
My lady wears one key all the time and often gets questioned, it looks really worn and used as over time the nickel plating has worn of by just wearing it, the other key remains in brand new condition sealed in a laminated pouch to her business card that remains inside my wallet. I've been asked once by a female at airport security what the key was for just casually as it shows up on the security xray machines. Is said it there in case of emergency.
