Anyone know the difference between some of the rapid vs custom models if you’re not doing alterations outside of the normal properties requested? For example the BD 20 vs BA 20 look identical yet the rapid one is cheaper and ships faster?
I think the rapid models are pre-made tube designs that just need to be cut and fitted to a ring while the custom models are built from scratch.
I ordered a rapid 21 model last week. Hopefully it will turn up sooner than the custom ones would. Fiance wants it to arrive before our wedding day where she plans on making me being caged the norm.
Did you order stainless steel or titanium? If the rapid cages are available in titanium, I could see this as my next cage. I like that fact that smaller base rings could be ordered later, if needed.
They are available as Titanium as well, but you cannot get a price before ordering. Seems quite strange, I have no clue if they are more or less than a normal cage from BAW.
My understanding is that the expedited cages are the same price as the customs plus $100 for the expedited manufacture and shipping.
I think those are different. There‘a the rapid vs custom and the rapid ones are cheaper and I guess premade to some degree. Then for the custom you can pay an additional $100 to have expedited creation.
I asked about a rapid titanium cage with some modifications, and it would cost $700. The "same" cage would be cheaper as a normal cage with the expedited making service added.
It was same for me. I asked rapid in titanium with no modifications and he gave me price of 650 usd + shipping. and in custome that is 400 usd and if i wont expeditiv it is 100 usd more that include shipping so in general. Rapid is only ok for stock steel cages, for titanium we all need to go for custome cages.
I ordered a ba21 on 11th August. Less than a month ago and it arrived today. Thats about 3 weeks faster than I expected.
