Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Badass Workroom "Security Screw" locking option? Wondering if it's just a standard cap screw fitting an allen wrench or if there is a sort of lock and key arrangement where the screw can only be opened by that one particular tool? Also, any issues with the screw coming loose over time?

I'm looking hard at buying a Badass Workroom cage, but still deciding which locking option to choose. I like their steel "magic locks", but the mounting structure looks soo large and obtrusive on the top of the cage I'm a little concerned about it. I like the sleek look of their security screw type locking mechanisms, but I would prefer to have an actual key for my keyholder. There is no way I will ever go with a padlock because they make noises and are sharp and pointy when cuddling with my KH.

I'm curious about this too. I emailed them and asked, but have not had a response _ which is a little concerning. I f they can't answer a question to get a sale, I begin to wonder about service.

I’d love to see it as well! My cage arrived in a few weeks from them and is fantastic! I’ve never emailed or tried to have any modifications done so I don’t know on that end.

I bit the bullet and ordered a Badass Workroom cage with a security screw today. I'll share what I find out in a few weeks.

The quickest way to get a response is to message him on Etsy.

I have gotten responses to my questions using the chat function on their website. Some communications weren't 100% clear and I ultimately decided I needed to stop asking questions and just take the chance.

Here is my question and response from BA regarding the security screw:

Q: "Lastly, what is the "security screw" locking mechanism? Is it similar to the hex screw that is often shown with the permanent locking clip?"

A: "security screw not hex screw shown with permanent locking clip"

He once had an outburst at me due to having to use a translator continuously. This was before he created the new website, and had refined his design a bit more. Nonetheless, I made the point very clear to him straight after, and no more issues.

I have found that he generally responds quickly. Almost around the clock. But generally via PM. I think he's based in China, hence the language barrier. I'd never condemn his spelling/grammar though. iT's StiLl EaSiEr to CoMpreHenD than tHis KinD OF teXT.

Imagine replying to 70 messages per day in diferent languages round the clock, and trying to stay sane, whilst trying to build cages at the same time, and attend to other demands.

@LockedTower, looking forward to reading about your experience.

@MT206, I take your point about having to respond to too many emails - I have the same problem sometime

    Thanks.

I am looking for a picture of a device with his security screw. (I am trying to replace my Jail Bird with something more discreet, as requested by my Wife.) Can anyone share a pic? I can't find one on his website. Thanks!

I'm really curious what it looks like (the screw and how it integrates). Could you possibly share a picture of that part of the device? (My wife has ordered me to replace my Jail Bird with something more discreet under tight clothing.)
