Hoping to get some help and advice from all of you here at The Mansion.

I have just bought a Cherry Keeper cage and ring. The ring proved too small - which was disappointing but mainly, though not all, my fault.

Leaving aside the actual size (diameter or circumference) what have you found works best / most comfortable / most SECURE for you:
    1. Straight circular ring
    2. Oval ring (longer North-South than East-West)
    3. Oval ring (wider East-West than North-South)
    4. Concave ergonomic ring (bending inwards in the middle towards the body)
    5. Convex ergonomic ring (bending outwards in the middle away from the body)
    6. Double ring
    7. Triple ring

Many thanks in advance for your help and I really look forward to hearing from you !

Great question! By my count I have 7 different Cherry Keeper rings. The reason I have so many is that I am always trying to adjust for an ever so slightly better fit. My goal, like many others, is to be able to extend my locking periods--so comfort is key.

That said, my most comfy is a ROUND, ergo, double ring.

The two oval (vertical, wide) options FEEL good upon installation, but over the course of several days aren't as good as the round shape for me. And that's important--for me. I think your experience might differ based on your own body.

Oddly, the one that feels BEST upon installation is the vertical oval. Yet it's the worst for overnight sleep. Not sure why.

My overall advice: Take the time to smooth things with sandpaper. Soak the parts in Hydrogen Peroxide to sterilize before wear. (the pores of printed plastic have crud in them on a microscopic level) Remove and wash device frequently. (for the same reason) I do about every other day a nice cleaning and simply rotate my various Cherry Keeper parts.

And my biggest bit of advice: take the time to learn the nuances of the grippy surfaces. You'll see what I mean. Once you do, security and comfort will skyrocket.

Your list includes a lot of non standard options. I’m high and tight and have made design modifications to increase the ball gap, which is the way I like it. I’ve had josielynn increase the angle of the connection to increase the ball gap. I’ve always hated the feeling of having the cage smash my balls. With respect to your question, and in comparing the more readily available options of ergonomic vs round rings, I have both, I’ve learned that the round ring provides more space for balls to hang through because the ergonomic design closes the gap on the sides and forces the skin more downward and gives the sensation of less ball gap. Many people like that. It’s often recommended to improve comfort. But not for me.

In my cherry keeper custom design, I have lots of ball gap to prevent the pressure on my balls from the cage smashing into my balls. The downside of such a design is that the cage and ball gap does not prevent the balls from popping through the ring. So the only thing keeping the balls in, is the base ring. The base ring needs to be sized very carefully to prevent the balls from contracting through. Mine escape a few times a year. Especially when swimming in cold water. I’m willing to live with that in exchange for finding the comfort that allows me to live in my cage daily. I’ve been wearing my cherry keeper’s since the beginning of 2019.

My first order arrived today. Will be testing this weekend. I will reserve comments to the experts already using CK.

Your welcome. Good luck finding the right fit. I went through a series of cherry keeper sizes and custom designs. I finally got the fit to a place that made me very satisfied and I’ve been wearing that version daily for well over a year. It started with some measurements, reading on CM, and a couple poorly fitting initial attempts. Then, each successive design change made it better and better. I did this through trial and error. I would wear each one for at least a month to determine what I didn’t like about it and then fix those problems in the next design. That’s what’s so awesome about the cherry keeper and Josielynn. Josielynn is awesome. Such a great person to deal with. They helped make the whole process enjoyable.

Maybe consider getting the sizing rings and going on from there. I like the circular ergo ring, bit still trying to perfect the ring size and ball gap.

I am using 19mm on new cages. One ring will drop to 15mm.

Worked well today in sub zero snow shoveling. Of course all I had showing was my ball sac in the CK micro cage.

looking back at my communications on design, it looks like the designed gap is about 22mm. With the flex in plastic, it’s likely and realistically larger than that.

Measured gap some flex expected on mine. May be ordering a negative angle on future to reduce to 10-12mm gap for myself.
