I am considering telling my wife I am ready for permanent until we decide to have a baby (3-5 years away). We have talked that it was a very sexy thought, but it's a big step! I think that if you want to and your SO wants you to as well you might as well go for it. Our marriage is good, but piv relations give us a new start of sorts. Our chastity play is just that -play. I don't currently have a significant other right now. Not sure if / when that will happen again. But permanent chastity is definitely enticing. Even a year just seems so shiny.
Don't expect it to happen all at once. My sincere recommendation is to take it in steps. Each step double the amount of time from the last lock up duration. Soon enough you will be up to a year. Then you can think about taking the next step.
This November 1, 2015, I will complete 365 days without a single release! Of course it's permanent, so there is no scope for annual celebration by getting a release
Answering the question would be easier if one knew what your definition of "chaste" might be ? Does it mean no orgasms ? No lockups for play & no stimulation at all ? No lockup even for cleaning ? No"milking" (even if it is without penilestimulation) ? ....

I was locked for all of 2014. I was released every ten days or so for cleaning and a shave. My wife did that, I wasn't allowed to touch myself. Twice during a tease session I had a ruined orgasm, but that was it for the year. I consider it a full year in chastity. Prior to that my longest lockup was three months. 3 Months is the longest I have gone completely chaste. I honestly don't know if I can make a whole year. Four months is the longest period for me - the birth of our child was a bit complicated so I stayed locked until she was feeling better. Chastity is an excellent way of keeping up the man's interest even in tougher times.
Wow, so many people in for whome this is a permanent lifestyle ;O I'm currently locked (L02 with plug), usually it's for 1 or 2 weeks, playing, then again 1 or 2 weeks. Once I had 19 days, but the cage wasnn't on the whole time. Now we challenged ourselves for NO!vember. It started on 25th of October and will last 'till 29th of November. Those extra 3 weeks make it a big deal for me/us. It stands to nothing compared to the rest here :O
