Shaving the play area

i shave everything, with a mach 3 razor, every time i shower

 

Everybody's hair and skin is different.

Used to shave every day, but heard that it can cause more ingrown hairs...

Currently use a 5 blade razor - Which could be an issue. Obviously the 3 blade would be more gentle. Any thoughts?

As for how much of the play area to shave, some women prefer the "treasure trail". Sure, it's my body - But it's also her playground.

Personally enjoy the feeling of being completely bare. Often opt to keep a tidy "landing strip" because I think it looks neat...

 

I've used my Mach3 razor as well... I've never really been completely satisfied with the quality of the shave I'm able to manage. It seems that no matter how carefully I shave, I never seem to be able to clear out all of the stubble.
Does anyone use any of the depilatory creams? I've seen horror stories about chemical burns on the testicles, so I am always very leery.

Also, is there any substantial difference between my Mach3 and my wife's pink razor?

 

I shave with a sensor3 razor the balls and shaft and keep the rest trimmed short. Then a couple times a year get everything completely waxed.

 

You are best off with a 2 blade razor. What works on a face and what works on the groin area are 2 different things.

I shave 2x a week and I have been doing home IPL treatments for 3 months. I have very little growing back now so shaving is 20-30 seconds.

 

I'll use the removal cream if I've been busy, and things have grown out of hand.

Always do a "test spot" somewhere else on your body to see the reaction - And even if you've been using the same brand, the company can suddenly change the chemicals inside (as reported by another member last fall).

Have personally only really had one adverse reaction to the removal cream - But I suspect it's because I was in a hurry, and hastily scraped the area with the plastic "spatula" instead of doing it slowly and gently.

I would like to think that a lady razor is gentler, as it's designed for softer skin - But I don't know this to be fact.

i use a 2 blade one as well. i am not very hairy anyways but after i have shave iExfoliating Bath Glove – Give Me Cosmetics use a skinscrub glove and that stop ingrow.

I wax everything down to the base of my penis and scrotum and then shave the rest with a 5 blade razor. I wax every 3 weeks and shave about once every 7-10 days. I use wax strips from the pharmacy.

3 blade Gillette razor. About once every 10 days. That next day or two sucks as it grows back in.

 

I leave some very short hair on the pubic area but everything else is shaved clean. Been doing that for 20+ years now. Usually use a Gillette Mach 3 and haven’t had any issues.

I’ve gone totally bare a few times, including a couple full waxes done at a spa. I would always have a lot of irritation when it started to grow back so I just trim it super short with an electric beard trimmer now.

I don’t think I could ever go back to letting it grow out. Not a fan of body hair on my own body.

 

I shave with a usual shaver. The whole body by the way. except the arms and beard.
The I go over with a IPL device which really keeps the skin smooth and hairless for several weeks. Now after 5 years. Of usage i almost dont have hair down there and on the stomach.

 

The initial wax is painful but if you repeat it at least monthly, it's much, much easier. The hair isn't stubbly when it grows back and is much softer.

This is significantly reduced with a combination of waxing and shaving.

Skin to skin contact with my lady is so much more enjoyable. She loves sleeping naked together now. Just our time cuddling before sleep and after we wake up makes the extra time grooming so worth it. She's noticed and has become even more fastidious in her personal grooming as well.

I shave every thing from the neck down, I use a clipper on a grade 0.

 

I have been shaving my balls and maybe an inch or more above my cock for over 40 years. Never noticed much difference in the number of blades or whether it was a disposable. One of the best things I’ve learned is to apply hair conditioner to the area being shaved before you start. No need to use anything else. You will get a very close shave and be baby smooth when you’re done. Try it, you’ll never go back to shaving cream

 

Have personally found disposable razors to be brutal on the face - No way I'd risk shaving anywhere else...

Definitely intrigued by using hair conditioner.

Another thought - Any difference between shaving with the grain or against? In other words, moving the razor "up" instead of "down"?

 

I’d never go against the grain- that’s a recipe for rash. When it comes to the dangly bits the less blades the better. It’s very curved down there so having 4 or 5 blades will mean only 2-3 are touching the skin and the moisturizing glide stick isn’t even touching. I use a quality 2 blade from Gillette.

I use the same five blade on the dangly bits that I use on my face but have to be extremely careful. I understand why the hair conditioner option would work based on uses of it in the past for different purposes. I can't wait to try it the next time I'm released for shaving which should be in the next few days. Before I started waxing my pubic region, I would experience the rash you mentioned when shaving against the grain. Which is one of the reasons why I started using waxing strips.
