Anyone have recommendations of where to get myself a nice white bridal corset that isn't junk but isn't a fortune?
Depends what you want it made from you could try axfords.co.uk make some lovely corsets! I had a black leather corset when I got married not from them but of eBay. Regards Lucy x
Yah, those are amazing, but out of my price range, I guess I'm looking for something that is more of a toy, but not a scrappy toy!
I guess that depends on what your definition of a fortune is. I got several corsets from Dark Garden a few years ago, I thought they were expensive when I first went to them, but after wearing my first custom fitted corset, I realized that expensive is relative. I can wear a custom fitted corset all day without discomfort. A cheap off the shelf corset might be comfortable for a few hours. If you are looking for something cheaper, maybe Timeless Trends would be more your speed
Vollers have a sale but you better be quick and the 31st of Jan. http://www.vollers-corsets.com/ I have several Vollers corsets and they are very well made and comfortable. Dianne
Good tip re Vollers and their January sale. Anyone know where to get equally good quality crotchless pantyhose like in this online photo? http://25.media.tumblr.com/626d88c8290891e76a2fd4f1855d2e31/tumblr_mm1e0gedax1s9ctx7o1_500.jpg
Since this popped up with a new reply I guess I should update, I decided to buy a cheapie before taking the plunge. Actually I ended up getting two, one for me, one for my KH, mine underbust and her's overbust, but otherwise from the same line, they should be arriving this week. If she has any interest maybe I'll upgrade at some point. So far the most fun part of the story was that she bought us matching panties to go with our matching corsets! This is all inspiration to drop the remaining 5 pounds because I don't get to wear them until I do. Thanks
i suppose, as with anything, you get what you pay for. my Owner did custom sewing and learned how to make corsets. In so doing, She developed considerable expertise. The ones in the shops on the rack are, basically, for show only. They may be pretty, they may be stylish, but they do no work. A proper corset actually does work. It is designed to hold you in an erect posture (there is no real way you can slump in one) and will compress the waist. The compression varies, based on the size of the corset (which should be two waist sizes smaller than you are naturally) and how long you have "trained" in it. i do highly recommend perusal of this website: The Long Island Staylace Association They have been around since the mid-1990s and the information they present on their website is, generally, first-rate.
So I did purchase a cheapy corset from corsetdeal.com. It just made sense to start cheap and if we like it get a real one later, especially since I am losing weight. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this $22 corset, I know it's not custom or probably very well made, but we'rd just using it for fun, so I doubt it will be on for hours on end. My only complaint is that since it is a woman's corset it has bigger hips than I do, but for $22 I think it's pretty hot. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely check back here is Ma'am likes it and wants to order a better one.
